Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Almighty Gord of Antithesis may be satire. Or not. So much is based on what the history of man shows us - the creativity yet carnage and chaos. There are many instances and images which might be offensive, even traumatic for some. And, too, in this book, too, there is cruelty combined with eroticism. For a man-eat-man menu (though food for thought is not an edible . . . those captured by the hunters for the "herd" are, to feed and/or breed) - is the only remaining sustenance on desecrated earth. Almighty Gord is hunter of prey (there is no other bread of life).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book confronts the inconvenient truth that we, our Lord Jesus Christs church, have failed him in being not united as one in mind and purpose and will, and it would be tragic if we remain divided. It shares the life of waiting on God to see what he would do in and with our lives as an efficacious way of leading the righteous life, the life of faith in God lived in the fear of the Lord, to bathe in his love, joy, and peace, i.e., the joy of life that allows him to transform us into conformity to the image of Christ. It shares the knowledge fundamental to our faith as a belt of truth to gird our loins to stand strong in our faith in God and meet the challenges Satan, our one true enemy, pose. It puts forth Gods vision for us, his church, to be the worlds antithesis and antidote, its hope to bind us as one in mind and purpose and will so that the world may believe that God had sent our Lord Jesus to save the world. It will also introduce you to four basic life principlesthe principles of origin, intricate unity, order and harmony, and authority to better discern and appreciate the truths found in the Bible, such as our being dichotomous-cum-triune beings, the reality of the afterlife, of faith in God being innate in us, how we are to function from within our being out.

Book Synopsis The Politics of Antithesis by : P. J. Hoedemaker
Download or read book The Politics of Antithesis written by P. J. Hoedemaker and published by Pantocrator Press. This book was released on 2021-09-30 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On August 1st, 1901, a new government was installed in the Netherlands, formed by Antirevolutionary Party (ARP) leader Abraham Kuyper. The culmination of decades of relentless effort, it represented a new departure in Dutch politics: a government explicitly invoking the Christian revelation as the basis for its policy. “Revelation over Reason!” had been the battle cry of the campaign, and the majority-Christian Dutch electorate had answered the call. But would the policy results of this Christian coalition government answer to such a high ideal? This was the question posed by P. J. Hoedemaker shortly after the coalition’s accession to power. In a series of lectures entitled A State with the Bible, he began to weigh the coalition in the balance, setting forth criteria to determine whether the result would answer to the promise. A second series of articles published just prior to the election campaign of 1905 had Hoedemaker drawing up the balance sheet. The conclusion was not encouraging: The coalition had fallen short precisely in the areas where a “state with the Bible” should have stood strong. For Hoedemaker, it had become clear that the question was not one of right or left in terms of party politics. No, it was Neither Right nor Left but the Royal Road, the way of a Christian public policy that transcends party politics. This conclusion was hammered home in a third publication promulgated after the election defeat for Kuyper in 1905. The title speaks volumes: The Birthright for a Mess of Pottage, an allusion to Esau’s contemptible bargain with Jacob. This was what came of a Christian coalition pursuing the “politics of antithesis,” and Hoedemaker’s assessment hits the mark not only with regard to the politics of Abraham Kuyper but with the politics of today. For it is the same set of issues with which we still struggle, revolving as they do around the presupposition of the neutral state. The three titles translated here are set in their proper context and as such are allowed to disgorge the wealth of vision contained in them to a generation far downstream from these events, but still feeling their effects. The bottom line: electoral politics in their current configuration are a failure and cannot help but be a failure. The approach needs to be rethought from top to bottom. Hoedemaker offers us a place to start.

Book Synopsis Hegel's Undiscovered Thesis-Antithesis-Synthesis Dialectics by : Leonard F. Wheat
Download or read book Hegel's Undiscovered Thesis-Antithesis-Synthesis Dialectics written by Leonard F. Wheat and published by Prometheus Books. This book was released on 2012-12-25 with total page 405 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For over fifty years, Hegel interpreters have rejected the former belief that Hegel used thesis-antithesis-synthesis dialectics. In this incisive analysis of Hegel's philosophy, Leonard F. Wheat shows that the modern interpretation is false. Wheat rigorously demonstrates that there are in fact thirty-eight well-concealed dialectics in Hegel's two most important works--twenty-eight in Phenomenology of Spirit and ten in The Philosophy of History. Wheat also develops other major new insights: • Hegel's chief dialectical format consists of a two-concept thesis, a two-concept antithesis, and a two-concept synthesis that borrows one concept from the thesis and one from the antithesis. • All dialectics are analogically based on the Christian separation-and-return myth: the dialectic separates from and returns to a thesis concept. • Hegel's enigmatic Spirit is a four-faceted, deliberately fictitious, nonsupernatural entity that exists only as an atheistic redefinition of "God." • Spirit's "divine life" begins not with consciousness but with unconsciousness, in the prehuman state of nature-before Spirit acquires its human mind. • Hegel's concept of freedom is not a sociopolitical concept but release from bondage to religious superstition (belief in a supernatural God). • In Hegel's widely misinterpreted master-and-slave parable, the master is God, the slave is man, and the slave's gaining his freedom is man's becoming an atheist. • The standard non-Hegelian base-superstructure interpretation of Marx's dialectics is false. Marx's basic dialectic is actually this: thesis = communal ownership poverty, antithesis = private ownership wealth, synthesis = communal ownership wealth. Wheat also shows that Marx and Tillich, who subtly used Hegelian dialectics in their own works, are the only authors who have understood Hegelian dialectics. Thoroughly researched and exhaustive in detail, this radical reinterpretation of Hegel's philosophy should greatly interest Hegel scholars and students.
