The result is that it is either not used at all by most surgeons, or else is incorrectly employed with disappointing results, which are not fairly attributable to the method. This condition of affairs is probably largely due to the fact that there has been no low-priced treatise on the subject in the English language, from which one could acquire the necessary information with regard to the principles, practice, and results of Antiseptic Surgery.
