Book excerpt: Excerpt from Annual Reports of the Adjutant General of the State of Wisconsin: For the Years 1860, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864 Pursuant to the authority granted, the editor has prepared, and the commissioners have caused this volume to be printed 'which contains the major portion of the report made in Decem lzer. 1860, for that year, exhibiting the military forces of the State, as it existed just prior to the opening of the Civil War, this is followed by the reports made in 1861, 1862, 1863 and 1861. The reports for these years are reprinted in full, and as made, except lists of officers commissioned, promoted, trans ferred, resignations, etc., which with modifications is duplicated from year to year. These names all appear, with all informa tion contained in the annual publication, in the proper order in the printed roster. The list of names of the killed and dead from other causes is also omitted and will be published in a separate volume. Obvious errors in orthography are also corrected.
