Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book conveys the ancient wisdom of the magic of numbers in an easy-to-understand format aimed at both the reader experienced in numerology and the uninitiated. This book covers how modern numerology grew and developed over the years, including how the term “numerology” came into use in the Western world. It uncovers how wisdom is based on numbers and explores whether mere mortals invented numbers as we know them today. Included also is the mystical aspect of the number zero and the presence of God everywhere, including in numbers that are used every day. At a practical level, the author shares the proper method of computing the final number from the date of birth and untangles the confusion of the mathematics involved in major number computation. Core numbers are also discussed to help readers work these out in their own lives and in the lives of their friends, families, and colleagues. Through his many years of experience, the author has had the privilege of studying many live cases. One of the most interesting among these is the numerology behind a pair of identical twins, which he reveals exclusively in this book.

Book excerpt: We know about the quantitative attributes of numbers but they also have qualitative aspects; they are much more than tools for counting, but emanations from the one. There can't be uncertainty or contradiction in nature which can be explained through mathematics based on ancient wisdom. Mathematics which is a flawless law eliminates feeling and reveals the same truth in abstract as well as the concrete world. As the spirit is submerged in matter while in the material body, it's under veils of illusion; as one truth is revealed, another greater truth is behind it, and as the veils gradually fall, man evolves by controlling his body with his mind, and regaining the spiritual sight he lost in the learning process of the lessons of the tree of knowledge.

Book excerpt: A mind-blowing investigation into ancient wisdom... and the nature of the universe! Monuments like the Pyramids or Stonehenge make us wonder: Were the ancients way more advanced than we know? In this book Sylvain Tristan does the maths and finds fascinating answers. Yes, the Bronze Age had superb astronomers, who already knew the exact dimensions of our Earth, Sun and Moon, and that our planet rotates around the Sun, thousands of years BC. New discoveries prove that Celtic Druids and their predecessors used an amazingly precise and unified 366-degree geometry and astronomy to measure space and time. Many key sites of antiquity follow this geometry, from Babylon to Teotihuacn to the Great Pyramid of Giza. Stranger still, Druidic Initiates -- perhaps in the highest ranks of Freemasonry -- have discreetly continued to use their geometry in siting cities like Paris, Washington DC, and modern architectural monuments worldwide. Strangest and most awe-inspiring of all, the magic numbers of the Druids -- 366, 40 and 10 -- may be encrypted in the dimensions of the solar system, the physics of our universe and the biology of the human species, as if they were the signature of a Great Architect. The revolutionary evidence in this book is easy to check, the interpretation is limited only by your imagination!

Mysteries and Secrets of Numerology investigates the ancient and widespread belief that numbers have unexplained powers to influence our lives, everything we do, and everything around us, so that, as the brilliant scientist and philosopher Sir James Hopwood Jeans wrote, "The Great Architect of the Universe now begins to appear as a pure mathematician." Numerology extends throughout the history of the world – from Pythagoras to the mysteries of ancient Babylonia and India, from Norse runes to Egyptian hieroglyphs and ancient Hebrew Gematria. Names, places, and dates all seem to have mysterious numerological significance. Some are positive and supportive; others appear to be negative and act as warnings. Where does the truth lie? In the face of so much global and historical evidence, and in the light of the power of numbers in nature, science, and technology, the secrets and mysteries of numerology are well worth investigating.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why is the number seven lucky--even holy--in almost every culture? Why do we speak of the four corners of the earth? Why do cats have nine lives (except in Iran, where they have seven)? From literature to folklore to private superstitions, numbers play a conspicuous role in our daily lives. But in this fascinating book, Annemarie Schimmel shows that numbers have been filled with mystery and meaning since the earliest times, and across every society. In The Mystery of Numbers Annemarie Schimmel conducts an illuminating tour of the mysteries attributed to numbers over the centuries. She begins with an informative and often surprising introduction to the origins of number systems: pre-Roman Europeans, for example, may have had one based on twenty, not ten (as suggested by the English word "score" and the French word for 80, quatrevingt --four times twenty), while the Mayans had a system more sophisticated than our own. Schimmel also reveals how our fascination with numbers has led to a rich cross-fertilization of mathematical knowledge: "Arabic" numerals, for instance, were picked up by Europe from the Arabs, who had earlier adopted them from Indian sources ("Algorithm" and "algebra" are corruptions of the Arabic author and title names of a mathematical text prized in medieval Europe). But the heart of the book is an engrossing guide to the symbolism of numbers. Number symbolism, she shows, has deep roots in Western culture, from the philosophy of the Pythagoreans and Platonists, to the religious mysticism of the Cabala and the Islamic Brethren of Purity, to Kepler's belief that the laws of planetary motion should be mathematically elegant, to the unlucky thirteen. After exploring the sources of number symbolism, Schimmel examines individual numbers ranging from one to ten thousand, discussing the meanings they have had for Judaic, Christian, and Islamic traditions, with examples from Indian, Chinese, and Native American cultures as well. Two, for instance, has widely been seen as a number of contradiction and polarity, a number of discord and antithesis. And six, according to ancient and neo-platonic thinking, is the most perfect number because it is both the sum and the product of its parts (1+2+3=6 and 1x2x3=6). Using examples ranging from the Bible to the Mayans to Shakespeare, she shows how numbers have been considered feminine and masculine, holy and evil, lucky and unlucky. A highly respected scholar of Islamic culture, Annemarie Schimmel draws on her vast knowledge to paint a rich, cross-cultural portrait of the many meanings of numbers. Engaging and accessible, her account uncovers the roots of a phenomenon we all feel every Friday the thirteenth.

At the center of the Faery Tradition lies the Tree of Enchantment: the symbol for these relationships and for the threefold life of humanity. At each level of the tree, there are attending spirit forces that vary from beings of light to beings of shadow, from the ancestors of humanity to the architects of form and nature, from the destiny of our planet to the creation forces of the universe. The tree’s roots grow through the lower world, where all life originates and the dead travel, its trunk and lower branches reach out across the middle world, where elemental forces and the four directions guide us, and its highest branches reach the into the upper world and the Star realm. Weaving together folk tradition and extensive academic research, Orion Foxwood has created an accessible, beautifully written pathway into the Old Religion of Faery Seership. Based on Appalachian traditions, Wiccan studies, Celtic oral traditions, and the Craft from Western and Northern Europe, The Tree of Enchantment offers the student of Faery Tradition both introductory and advanced visionary practices and authentic tools to learn to navigate the three realms of humanity. With diligence and an open heart, the reader will learn to cross The River of Blood, pass through The Gate of Awakening, and over The River of Stars.

Book excerpt: The cutting edge of neurolinguistics meets the spiritual wisdom of the ages in a handbook of key words that literally rewire our brains. New discoveries in biology and the neurosciences are revealing how the structure of language-the words we think and speak-can actually change the way the neurons in our brains and hearts connect. But our ancestors understood this connection intuitively, thousands of years ago. They created specific word-patterns to provide comfort, healing, strength, and inner power in difficult times, and they encoded these powerful words in prayers, chants, mantras, hymns, and sacred writings to preserve them for future generations. Now beloved teacher and thought leader Gregg Braden cracks the code and puts these powerful words in your hands. Perfect as a pocket guide, a reference for spiritual study, or a gift to someone you love, this elegant, compact book contains Wisdom Codes that cut to the core of life's greatest tests, most challenging demands, and hardest lessons. You'll find chapters devoted to healing from loss and grief, facing your unspoken fears, finding certainty in the face of uncertain choices, and finding forgiveness, as well as ancient parables that offer a "fast track" to unraveling life's deepest mysteries. Each Wisdom Code-distilled from a quote, a scripture passage, or a parable-is accompanied by a brief discussion of what the code means, why it's important, and how to apply it in your life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "From the time of Pythagoras, we have been tempted to treat numbers as the ultimate or only truth. This book tells the history of that habit of thought. But more, it argues that the logic of counting sacrifices much of what makes us human, and that we have a responsibility to match the objects of our attention to the forms of knowledge that do them justice. Humans have extended the insights and methods of number and mathematics to more and more aspects of the world, even to their gods and their religions.Today those powers are greater than ever, as computation is applied to virtually every aspect of human activity. But the rules of mathematics do not strictly apply to many things-from elementary particles to people-in the world.By subjecting such things to the laws of logic and mathematics, we gain some kinds of knowledge, but we also lose others. How do our choices about what parts of the world to subject to the logics of mathematics affect how we live and how we die? This question is rarely asked, but it is urgent, because the sciences built upon those laws now govern so much of our knowledge, from physics to psychology.Number and Knowledge sets out to ask it. In chapters proceeding chronologically from Ancient Greek philosophy and the rise of monotheistic religions to the emergence of modern physics and economics, the book traces how ideals, practices, and habits of thought formed over millennia have turned number into the foundation-stone of human claims to knowledge and certainty. But the book is also a philosophical and poetic exhortation to take responsibility for that history, for the knowledge it has produced, and for the many aspects of the world and of humanity that it ignores or endangers. To understand what can be counted and what can't is to embrace the ethics of purposeful knowing"--
