She was an unacclimated foreign lady, who had not stirred out of the city during the whole summer, nor had she even peeled a banana from s avana. In March, 1841, a case was brought to the hospital from Deme rara, and in October of the same year a case occurred in my private practice, both of which were reported by me in the American Journal of the Medical Sciences for October, 1842.
