Book Synopsis Variables Affecting Certainty by : Glenn G. Klaphake
Download or read book Variables Affecting Certainty written by Glenn G. Klaphake and published by . This book was released on 2000 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The first meeting between new leaders and staff has a direct effect on the establishment of congruency. Teacher and new principals were studied to determine what factors affected congruency and the timeline in which degrees of congruency were established. Special focus was given to the formation of impressions prior to and following the first formal between the new principal and staff. The research was conducted at two elementary schools with newly hired principals. Multiple methods were utilized to collect data, i.e., document collection, video analysis, interviews and case studies. The results show that impressions prior to and resulting from the meeting factor heavily in confidence leading to congruency. Other findings indicate that leadership succession, experience, cultural forces, and personality also impact the gradual development of congruency during the study. The study has implications for hiring practices."--Abstract.
