Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Derived from the renowned multi-volume International Encyclopaedia of Laws, this practical guide to cyber law – the law affecting information and communication technology (ICT) – in Bulgaria covers every aspect of the subject, including intellectual property rights in the ICT sector, relevant competition rules, drafting and negotiating ICT-related contracts, electronic transactions, privacy issues, and computer crime. Lawyers who handle transnational matters will appreciate the detailed explanation of specific characteristics of practice and procedure. Following a general introduction, the book assembles its information and guidance in seven main areas of practice: the regulatory framework of the electronic communications market; software protection, legal protection of databases or chips, and other intellectual property matters; contracts with regard to software licensing and network services, with special attention to case law in this area; rules with regard to electronic evidence, regulation of electronic signatures, electronic banking, and electronic commerce; specific laws and regulations with respect to the liability of network operators and service providers and related product liability; protection of individual persons in the context of the processing of personal data and confidentiality; and the application of substantive criminal law in the area of ICT. Its succinct yet scholarly nature, as well as the practical quality of the information it provides, make this book a valuable time-saving tool for business and legal professionals alike. Lawyers representing parties with interests in Bulgaria will welcome this very useful guide, and academics and researchers will appreciate its value in the study of comparative law in this relatively new and challenging field.
Download or read book Drought in Bulgaria written by Ivan Raev and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-01-18 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Given the different geographical and human contexts in which climate change impacts will be experienced, thinking by analogy provides one useful way to explore dimensions of such change. This landmark book, based on the human dimensions of global change paradigm, examines climate impacts through the study of a contemporary society's response to a drought period analogous to expected future climate. Bulgaria suffered severe drought from 1982 to 1994, conditions which models suggest better reflects future climate than existing norms. The Center for Integrated Regional Assessment at Penn State and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences collaborated to research this drought period as an analogy for future climate. This book shows their assessment of what can be learned from the impacts of and responses to contemporary drought in Bulgaria. It therefore makes an important contribution to the literature on regional climate change and methods used to address anticipated impacts of that change.

Book excerpt: By the time you get your hands on this magazine, a wave of changes is expected to happen - tension of the recent SPM exams would have plummeted as the holiday spirit envelops us, and while everything is bright and merry, some of you cpuld be at the FACON Education Fair in KLCC this December deciding which course to take whilst silently hoping you get aces on your actual SPM results - nagging thoughts you would rather muffle with the latest Star Wars movie or New Year's dinner party. Nerve wracking it is, change is exciting. It's a cycle that all of us operate in and that's totally fine as I've been there, too. Taking over the magazine with a fresh team of young writers was a tought experience but it was a great opportunity to decide and flesh out new ideas. Thoughts of failing trouble our minds but those are the very things that hinder us from growing. After having said that, I would encourage all of you to be recipe for change. Don't be afraid to cook up some trouble.
