Merleau-Ponty identified this nascent ontology as a philosophy of incarnation that carries us beyond entrenched dualisms in philosophical thinking about perception, the body, animality, nature, and God. What does this ontology have to do with the Catholic language of incarnation, sacrament, and logos on which it draws? In this book, Orion Edgar argues that Merleau-Ponty's philosophy is dependent upon a logic of incarnation that finds its roots and fulfillment in theology, and that Merleau-Ponty drew from the Catholic faith of his youth. Merleau-Ponty's final abandonment of Christianity was based on an understanding of God that was ultimately Kantian rather than orthodox, and this misunderstanding is shared by many thinkers, both Christian and not. As such, Merleau-Ponty's philosophy suggests a new kind of natural theology, one that grounds an account of God as ipsum esse subsistens in the questions produced by a phenomenological account of the world. This philosophical ontology also offers to Christian theology a route away from dualistic compromises and back to its own deepest insight.

He explains Nehemiah 4:11, “And our adversaries said, They shall not know nor see, till we come in the midst among them, and slay them, and cause the work to cease.” He shows how the church is at war with the wicked designs of men who would tear down the work of Jesus Christ. Also included is “Jerusalem’s Watchman,” “Walking Worthy of the Gospel,” and a funeral sermon on Acts 13:36. Other religions, such as Christianity, state that some Angels are faithful to GOD, while others have rebelled against him and are now known as demons and the evil ones. Angels are mentioned 273 times in the Bible referencing special messages, unique events, unexplainable miracles, promoting creational benevolence or following orders of death and destruction, hence Sodom and Gomorrah. The Bible states some Angels are GOD’s messengers and likewise beware the Bible also states some Angels are GOD’s Spiritual Army, telling us about facts not to forget of such legions of warring Angels with unlimited capacities. Some Angels have been described as “participants” in the creation and providential continuance of the cosmos though out the Heavens. Clement of Alexandria, influenced by Hellenistic cosmology, mentioned that the functions and the moving of the stars and control the four elements such as, earth, air, fire and water are controlled by GOD’s assigned participating hierarchy of Angels. There are NINE (9) distinct types of Angels identified in biblical scripture. We know by popularity the Archangels are the most recognizable, however reviled in the Bible are many more Angel types whose functions are assigned to protect, care and inspire the humankind on earth. Both in the Old and in the New Testament, we see Angels have been named numerous times and each have a key position and chain of command in GOD’s plan in addition to belonging to the army of GOD thought out the Universes.
