Zunächst werden die Grundlagen von ETFs und Managed Futures vorgestellt. Anschließend wird eine Kosten-Nutzen Analyse durchgeführt, um ausgewählte Managed Futures und ETFs miteinander zu vergleichen. Eine detaillierte Analyse soll die gegenwärtigen Markteigenschaften beleuchten. Hierfür wurden sowohl aktive als auch passive ETFs ausgewählt. Der Vergleich von Transaktionskosten und weiteren Gebühren ist dabei ein wesentlicher Teil der Analyse. Zusätzlich wird sowohl die Volatilität als auch das Risiko auf Grundlage von den Griechen und weiteren statistischen Kennzahlen beurteilt. Gleichzeitig berücksichtigt die ausführliche Kosten-Nutzen Analyse auch qualitative Aspekte von ETFs und Managed Futures. Die Autorin kommt zu der Schlussfolgerung, dass im Allgemeinen passive ETFs im Vergleich zu Managed Futures kostengünstiger sind. Darüber hinaus wird argumentiert, dass es sich bei aktiven ETFs trotz positiver Performance in bestimmten Sektoren um einen noch nicht ausgereiften Markt handelt, dessen Zukunft ungewiss ist. *****The world of financial investments and derivatives is dynamic and expansive. Investors have an increasingly wide range of choices, and therefore require an increasing number of tools and references to compare and select instruments. The purpose of this paper is to determine whether an investor would be better off investing in exchange traded funds or managed futures, given all of their benefits versus costs. This paper describes the fundamentals of the exchange-traded fund and managed futures markets. Subsequently, a cost-benefit analysis is undertaken to compare selected managed futures and ETFs. Both active and passive ETFs have been chosen for the analysis to accurately represent the different aspects of the current market. Transaction costs and fees to management are compared. Additionally, volatility and risk using some Greek figures and other statistical ratios and tests are evaluated. Due to the nature of the cost-benefit analysis, there are also qualitative characteristics of the ETF and managed futures market which are taken into account. The author finds that passive ETFs have the most overall benefit in relation to their costs over time when compared to managed futures. The author also determined that active ETFs, while achieving some positive performance results in certain sectors, are still an immature market with an uncertain future.

However, the persuasion that social and economic processes could and should be regulated was by no means limited to them. Intense debates on these issues developed already during the First World War in Europe and became globalized during the World Economic crisis. During the Cold War, such discussions fuelled competition between two models of economic and social organisation but they also revealed the convergences and complementarities between them. This ambiguity, so often overlooked in histories of the Cold War, represents the central issue of the book organized around three axes. Part Two deals with 'Contemporary Issues.' Two essays address the question of Islam and Muslim-Christian Relations in Africa. The resurgence of Islam in the world today is a concern of many. What are appropriate and thoughtful ways to share the love of Christ? Two further essays appear under the title of 'The Marginalized.' This could, of course, be a much large section. In this volume, however, the 'disabled' and youth are highlighted. Both groups are clearly in need of the attention of the churches, and both groups are clearly misunderstood and neglected.
