Arias and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Estabilidade e adaptabilidade de cultivares de milho avaliadas em "safrinha" no período de 1993 a 1995 written by F. M. A. Gonçalves and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: Providing comprehensive discussions of the physical and chemical properties, manufacture, and industrial uses of biosurfactants, this reference offers first-hand accounts of biosurfactant research of leading biotechnology laboratories. It introduces promising possible uses of biosurfactants in medicine, in environmental control, and for marine organisms. In contributions of more than 30 leading international experts, the text reviews the biosynthetic mechanisms for surfactants and their precursor molecules; explicates the biophysics of microbial surfactants and examines the production of immobilized biocatalysts, lipopeptides, and rhamnolipids. It also presents information on the economics of biosurfactants.
Book Synopsis Advances in Fungal Biotechnology for Industry, Agriculture, and Medicine by : Jan S. Tkacz
Download or read book Advances in Fungal Biotechnology for Industry, Agriculture, and Medicine written by Jan S. Tkacz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 455 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the past half century, filamentous fungi have grown in commercial importance not only in the food industry but also as sources of pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of infectious and metabolic diseases and of specialty proteins and enzymes used to process foods, fortify detergents, and perform biotransformations. The commercial impact of molds is also measured on a negative scale since some of these organisms are significant as pathogens of crop plants, agents of food spoilage, and sources of toxic and carcinogenic compounds. Recent advances in the molecular genetics of filamentous fungi are finding increased application in the pharmaceutical, agricultural, and enzyme industries, and this trend promises to continue as the genomics of fungi is explored and new techniques to speed genetic manipulation become available. This volume focuses on the filamentous fungi and highlights the advances of the past decade, both in methodology and in the understanding of genomic organization and regulation of gene and pathway expression.

Book Synopsis Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook by : Kenneth Mathews
Download or read book Livestock, Dairy, and Poultry Outlook written by Kenneth Mathews and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2015-10-27 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the last quarter of 2015 begins, production data show that total red meat and poultry production, aggregated over the first three quarters of 2015, increased by less than 1 percent over the same period of 2014. In the first three quarters of 2015, beef production is about 3 percent below production in the same period last year. Cattle prices so far in 2015 have averaged almost 3 percent above prices in the same period of 2014. Production effects of disease outbreaks link the pork and poultry sectors, but in divergent directions: the pork sector continues to recover from the effects of porcine epidemic diarrhea (PEDv) outbreaks last year, with total production in the first three quarters of 2015 almost 8 percent ahead of the same period in 2014. The poultry sector is recovering from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI), the effects of which has fallen so far on the turkey sector (2 percent lower production) and the egg sector (5 percent lower production). Turkey prices have averaged almost 6 percent above the same period last year; average egg prices are almost 36 percent above the same period of 2014. Broiler production is up in 2015 by 4 percent.
Book Synopsis OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook by : OCDE
Download or read book OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook written by OCDE and published by OCDE. This book was released on 2014-08-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This twentieth edition of the Agricultural Outlook, and the tenth prepared jointly with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), provides market projections to 2023 for major agricultural commodities, biofuels and fish across 41 countries and 12 regions: OECD member countries (European Union as a region), key non-OECD agricultural producers (such as India, China, Brazil, Russian Federation and Argentina) and groups of smaller non-OECD economies in a more aggregated form. Strong demand is expected to keep commodity prices firm, but below recent peaks, with a recovery of stocks leading to a reduced risk of price volatility. This edition includes a special focus on India. Home to the world's second largest population, and the largest in terms of number of farmers and rural population, India is projected to sustain the production and consumption growth of recent years, offering potential to reduce considerably its number of food insecure people.
