Book Synopsis Active network synthesis using practical amplifiers by : Ray Earl Cooper
Download or read book Active network synthesis using practical amplifiers written by Ray Earl Cooper and published by . This book was released on 1967 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two synthesis procedures are presented for active RC common ground networks. The active elements used are practical amplifiers having finite input and output impedances and gain. These amplifiers are more easily realized than are ideal elements such as negative impedance converters, gyrators, and negative resistors. Active RC networks are particularly appealing for use in microcircuits and low frequency applications where inductors are not practical. The two amplifier method allows the synthesis of any real rational voltage transfer function. The single amplifier method realizes voltage transfer functions with poles in the left-half-plane and zeros any place except the positive real axis. A guide for reducing transfer function sensitivity to the active-RC parameter variations is presented. It is shown that by staying near the Horowitz optimum decomposition significant reductions in sensitivity can be achieved. Four important general low order transfer functions are examined in detail for near optimum realization. It is also shown that sensitivity figures for a conjugate pole-pair transfer function obtained by a RLC passive network are not appreciably lower than for an RC-active network. For lowest overall sensitivity figures the passive RC network sensitivities should be considered. Many equivalent RC networks exist for a particular RC function. Since sensitivity is a function of frequency, the problem is to find the least sensitive network at a frequency or frequencies of interest. Guides are provided for selection by worst case analysis and by statistical means. Circuits and response curves are presented for two active filters designed using both synthesis procedures.
Book Synopsis Active Network Analysis by : Wai-Kai Chen
Download or read book Active Network Analysis written by Wai-Kai Chen and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1991 with total page 694 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Active Network Analysis gives a comprehensive treatment of the fundamentals of the theory of active networks and its applications to feedback amplifiers. The guiding light throughout has been to extract the essence of the theory and to discuss those topics that are of fundamental importance and that will transcend the advent of new devices and design tools. The book provides under one cover a unified, comprehensive, and up-to-date coverage of these recent developments and their practical engineering applications. In selecting the level of presentation, considerable attention has been given to the fact that many readers may be encountering some of these topics for the first time. Thus basic introductory material has been included. The work is illustrated by a large number of carefully chosen and well-prepared examples.

Book Synopsis Active Network Synthesis Using Operational Amplifiers by : Ching Hwa Chiang
Download or read book Active Network Synthesis Using Operational Amplifiers written by Ching Hwa Chiang and published by . This book was released on 1968 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three synthesis methods for the realization of the voltage transfer function by means of RC elements and three different active devices are presented. These three devices are a high-gain amplifier, a voltage controlled voltage source (VCVS) and a negative immittance converter (NIC). The VCVS and NIC as well as the high-gain amplifier are realized by an operational amplifier. The properties of the operational amplifier are stated. The matrix representation which describes the electrical behavior of this device is defined. The realizations of VCVS and NIC using an operational amplifier are derived. Synthesis techniques for these network configurations are developed and investigated. Examples are given for each case followed by experimental results. A Butterworth low-pass function is selected for all three synthesis examples. The actual networks are built. The experimental results of actual networks are analyzed and compared with the theoretical results. A general comparison of these three different synthesis methods is discussed in the conclusion.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The importance of network analysis and synthesis is well known in the various engineering fields. The book provides comprehensive coverage of the signals and network analysis, network functions and two port networks, network synthesis and active filter design. The book is structured to cover the key aspects of the course Network Analysis & Synthesis. The book starts with explaining the various types of signals, basic concepts of network analysis and transient analysis using classical approach. The Laplace transform plays an important role in the network analysis. The chapter on Laplace transform includes properties of Laplace transform and its application in the network analysis. The book includes the discussion of network functions of one and two port networks. The book covers the various aspects of two port network parameters along with the conditions of symmetry and reciprocity. It also derives the interrelationships between the two port network parameters. The network synthesis starts with the realizability theory including Hurwitz polynomial, properties of positive real functions, Sturm's theorem and maximum modulus theorem. The book covers the various aspects of one port network synthesis explaining the network synthesis of LC, RC, RL and RLC networks using Foster and Cauer forms. Then it explains the elements of transfer function synthesis. Finally, the book illustrates the active filter design. Each chapter provides the detailed explanation of the topic, practical examples and variety of solved problems. The explanations are given using very simple and lucid language. All the chapters are arranged in a specific sequence which helps to build the understanding of the subject in a logical fashion. The book explains the philosophy of the subject which makes the understanding of the concepts very clear and makes the subject more interesting.
Book Synopsis Active RC Network Synthesis with Operational Amplifier by : Erol Yuksel
Download or read book Active RC Network Synthesis with Operational Amplifier written by Erol Yuksel and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Active RC network synthesis techniques with operational amplifiers are reviewed, discussed, and classified according to the number of amplifiers and number of feedback paths in the circuit. After presenting the main properties of active RC network theory, various synthesis techniques are discussed and evaluated according to their merits, by means of sensitivity and stability theory. A modification to Lovering's circuit is proposed. Six design examples are presented to illustrate the application of the techniques and to observe the effect of nonideal active and passive components. The designs are practically realized, their performance is tested and experimental results are presented. Reasons for the discrepancies found between theory and experimental results are discussed.
