Book Synopsis Chaotic Mechanics in Systems with Impacts and Friction by : Barbara Blazejczyk-Okolewska
Download or read book Chaotic Mechanics in Systems with Impacts and Friction written by Barbara Blazejczyk-Okolewska and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1999 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is devoted to the theory of chaotic oscillations in mechanical systems. Detailed descriptions of the basic types of nonlinearity ? impacts and dry friction ? are presented. The properties of such behavior are discussed, and the numerical and experimental results obtained by the authors are presented. The dynamic properties of systems described here can be useful in the proper design and use of mechanics where such behavior still creates problems. This book will be very useful for anyone with a fundamental knowledge of nonlinear mechanics who is beginning research in the field.

Book Synopsis Dramatic Effect of Cross-Correlations in Random Vibrations of Discrete Systems, Beams, Plates, and Shells by : Isaac Elishakoff
Download or read book Dramatic Effect of Cross-Correlations in Random Vibrations of Discrete Systems, Beams, Plates, and Shells written by Isaac Elishakoff and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-04-11 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume explains the dramatic effect of cross-correlations in forming the structural response of aircraft in turbulent excitation, ships in rough seas, cars on irregular roads, and other dynamic regimes. It brings into sharp focus the dramatic effect of cross correlations often neglected due to the analytical difficulty of their evaluation. Veteran author Professor Isaac Elishakoff illustrates how neglect of cross correlations could result in underestimation of the response by tens or hundreds of percentages the effect of the random vibrations of structures’ main elements, including beams, plates, and shells.
Book Synopsis Modeling of Induction Motors with One and Two Degrees of Mechanical Freedom by : Ernest Mendrela
Download or read book Modeling of Induction Motors with One and Two Degrees of Mechanical Freedom written by Ernest Mendrela and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modeling of Induction Motors with One and Two Degrees of Mechanical Freedom presents the mathematical model of induction motors with two degrees of mechanical freedom (IM-2DMF), formed in the electromagnetic field as well as in circuit theory, which allows analyzing the performance of these three groups of motors taking into account edge effects, winding and current asymmetry. The model derived is based on the concept of magnetic field wave moving in the air-gap with a helical motion. In general, the rotor moves helically too with the rotary-linear slip. The electromagnetic field as well as motor performance of the particular motors is analyzed. The mathematical model of IM-2DMF is more general to the model of induction motors with one degree of mechanical freedom, i.e. rotary and linear motors. Examples of modeling two types of rotary disc motors and flat linear motor with twisted primary part are presented with inclusion of finite stator and rotor length and width effects. The simulation results are backed by the measurements carried out on the laboratory models, which were tested on the unique measurement stand.
