Download or read book Hacer teologia y etica teologica frente a la crisis de los abusos written by Daniel J. Fleming and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2024-06-13 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Los Sufrimientos de Ruthie written by Carlos José Sánchez and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 153 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The Role of Play in Child Assessment and Intervention by : Silvia Salcuni
Download or read book The Role of Play in Child Assessment and Intervention written by Silvia Salcuni and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2017-09-06 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Play is a ubiquitous and universal aspect of early childhood. Although it may take different forms throughout development and across cultures, decades of research have found play to be related to important, positive outcomes. Play provides children with valuable cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal learning opportunities. It can act as a mode of communication for young children and allows them to practice ways of managing complex interpersonal interactions. Specific aspects of play, such as children’s creativity in pretend play, have been associated with resilience and coping. The significance of play in childhood has led to its frequent use in the assessment of child development and in the implementation of child and parent-child psychological and educational interventions. Historically, however, the validity and efficacy of these interventions have not been rigorously evaluated. Further, few assessment and intervention models have included parents, teachers, and other key caregivers, but have focused only on the child. This Research Topic will bring together the most current literature on the use of play in child assessment and intervention.

This book was released on 2014-01-14 with total page 164 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Global Perspectives on Prostitution and Sex Trafficking by : Rochelle L. Dalla
Download or read book Global Perspectives on Prostitution and Sex Trafficking written by Rochelle L. Dalla and published by Lexington Books. This book was released on 2011-04-08 with total page 406 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is part of a two-volume set that examines prostitution and sex trafficking on a global scale, with each chapter devoted to a particular country in one of seven "geo-cultural" areas of the world. The 18 chapters in this volume (Volume I) are devoted to examination of the commercial sex industry (CSI) in countries within Africa, Asia, Middle East, and Oceania, while the 16 chapters that comprise Volume II focus exclusively on Europe, Latin America, and North America. Volume II also includes a 'global' section, which includes chapters that are globally relevant — rather than those devoted to a particular country or geographic location. The content of each volume, as well as each chapter, reflects great diversity — diversity in focus, writing style, and personal position regarding the commercial sex industry. Diversity extends to the contributors, who are comprised of international scholars, service providers, and policy advocates representing a variety of fields and disciplines, with distinct and varied frames of reference and theoretical underpinnings with regard to the commercial sex industry. In addition to addressing aspects of the CSI across the globe, as impacted by geography and culture, authors have also provided a spectrum of implications of their work — implications ranging from continued scholarship and research, to legislative maneuvers and policy change, to suggestions for collaboration across NGOS, fieldworkers, clinicians, and service providers. Together, the 34 expertly-crafted chapters provide a wealth of knowledge from which to more deeply appreciate and contemplate the global commercial sex industry. By uniting contributors from around the world, this book aims to build a relatively common knowledge base on global prostitution and sex trafficking. Viewed from a unified, global perspective, it is hoped that this common understanding will lead to a grounded theory and integrated view with applicable suggestions for international efforts aimed at intervention, service, education, and continued scholarship.

Book Synopsis Protecting children from sexual violence by : Council of Europe
Download or read book Protecting children from sexual violence written by Council of Europe and published by Council of Europe. This book was released on 2011-04-05 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Protecting children from sexual violence - A comprehensive approach is a collection of highly readable expert papers for both child professionals and the general public. It is divided into five parts, presenting a European overview and covering the existing legal frameworks; abuse prevention and reporting; rehabilitation and social reintegration of victims; sexual violence on the Internet; and public and private partnerships against abuse. It also sheds light on the little-known problem of children who are sexually abusing other children. In addition to providing thorough information on the many facets of this complex subject, this publication also highlights new concepts, facts and recommendations. Foremost is the significant lack of data on the prevalence and nature of sexual violence in Europe, underscoring the need for co-ordinated pan-European research and information gathering, which are vital to effective policy making and programme design. It also sounds the alarm for urgent co-ordinated action in various fields to drastically improve child protection through awareness raising; targeted and specialised training, intervention and therapy programmes; sex education in schools; responsible family attitudes; and justice systems with tighter abuse laws and which take account of children's special needs as reliable witnesses.Protecting children from sexual violence is published as part of the Council of Europe campaign to stop sexual violence against children. The hope is that this publication will inspire judges, the police, educators, governments, the media and legislatures to join the campaign and expose, demythify and take concerted action to combat sexual violence against children, a phenomenon that affects as many as 20% of children in Europe.

Book Synopsis Marriage and the Culture of Peace by : Cecilia Sarahi de la Rosa Vazquez
Download or read book Marriage and the Culture of Peace written by Cecilia Sarahi de la Rosa Vazquez and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2023-03-14 with total page 119 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides skills for therapists and families to help improve interpersonal communication, promoting a new system of family coexistence and a refreshed concept of the modern marriage in society. Written from a constructivist peace perspective, the book’s aim is to reduce the high statistics of intimate partner violence that occurs in Mexico, arguing that the culture of peace and how it is born in the family in turn affects society for better or for worse. Based upon interviews from 150 long-term married couples, the chapters address the components that promote peaceful dialogue in marriages, such as assertive language, active listening, tolerance to frustration, and gender perspectives. Including accessible language and several models of peace, the book uniquely examines same-sex marriages, the role of children in marriage conflicts, and prescribed gender assumptions and roles in relationships. It aims to empower family members to move away from old habits and seek a more equitable existence in marriages and society at large. This interdisciplinary text will be of great interest to family therapists and clinical social workers, as well as to students and researchers in communication and peace studies.
