Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Travel with Mary, her minister husband and her family as they leave the posh community of Beverly Hills to serve a small church in New Mexico, a world away from the atmosphere they had known in California. The way of life, the climate, the scenery, the food...all so different. Interesting and unusual characters filled their lives every day as they lived and worked among a wonderful panoply of people. Enjoying historical Route 66 as their main thoroughfare created many delightful stories told in a relaxed, humorous way. To make the reading easier, the style of writing is in the fashion of “stream of consciousness” of an earlier literary period, so you may occasionally find duplication of incidents due to “rambling” All names have been changed to protect the real characters written about. Apologies to anyone who willingly claims the identity.

Book excerpt: From the bestselling author of the classic espionage saga, The Brotherhood of the Rose, comes a high-action spy novel about deception and the meaning of loyalty. . . . When a bureaucratic mistake allows a terrorist attack to occur, CIA operative Steve Decker leaves the spy world in disgust. Seeking a new life, he moves to picturesque Santa Fe, New Mexico, and for the first time allows himself to think about something other than global intrigue and violence. He even lowers his guard sufficiently to commit himself to a relationship, but after his lover’s house explodes and she is seen escaping with an unknown man, Steve discovers that she has a mysterious past and that she knows he once worked for the CIA. Did she love him, or was she only using him as a bodyguard? Drawn back into the world of deceit and treachery, Steve will stop at nothing in his desperate cross-country quest to find his lover and learn the truth. “David Morrell is a master of suspense. Book excerpt: No matter how great or how terrible life is going, one thing is for sure--it's going to change. Sometimes it happens in an instant--you get married, you have a baby, you lose a loved one, you lose a job. Sometimes, it happens over time--you drift away from a friend, you discover you're not the same person you used to be, you find yourself struggling with doubt. But no matter what, we must deal with both the change we choose and the change foisted upon us. Jenny Simmons is no stranger to both kinds. In this thought-provoking book, she shares her final days as the lead singer of the band Addison Road and the subsequent journey that led her through seasons of change, lostness, and finding new life. The result is a painfully vulnerable, laugh-out-loud, honest, and hopeful reflection on life's uncertain times. This encouraging book invites readers to view their not-how-I-planned-it moments as holy seasons that didn't catch God off guard at all.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ever wonder why Bugs Bunny kept getting lost... and why it was always due to that missed left turn at Albuquerque? Well in this book you just might discover that perhaps ol' Bugs didn't have such a poor memory or bad sense of direction after all. Perhaps he knew something the rest of us didn't. Come along for yet another marvelous, meandering road trip, courtesy of author Debora L. Carr as she continues to explore the mind-boggling sights in the vast and varied state of New Mexico. There are more natural wonders, strange towns and wild artwork to goggle at as well as unexplained mysteries, bizarre news items and unusual characters that will keep you scratching your head in amazement. You never know what you'll discover around the next bend in the rutted, winding road or what you'll miss out on if you don't miss that left turn. So keep your eyes peeled for those hidden gems of weird wonders that lurk at the side of the road and watch out for those spandex-clad two-wheeled kamakazis. Just turn off the GPS and follow that "wascally wabbit" as the adventure continues in the Wild, Wacky Land of Enchantment Debora Carr was born and raised in the central New Jersey area, graduating from Rutgers University with a BA in Art Education in 1980 and became a successful professional graphic artist and packaging designer. She chose to accompany her parents when they decided to relocate to and retire in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2003, where she continued her chosen profession of graphic artist, working as a one-person art department for a small print shop. She continued to keep in touch with friends and family members 'back east' by means of periodic humorous newsletters which she called her 'Albu-Quirky Journals' in which she detailed her perspective on life in New Mexico. She later collected some of these reports and rewrote them in a tongue-in-cheek essay form, emulating the short stories written by two of her favorite authors, James Thurber and Mark Twain. Her collections of these amusing vignettes include her first two books, "You Don't Need a Passport to Move to New Mexico" and "Home on the Strange." Debora still revels in collecting stories and photos of all things weird, odd and unusual and is delighted to find that her new home state of New Mexico is overflowing with them. With any luck, it will continue to provide fodder for more entries into her "Albu-Quirky Journals" for many years to come. Visit Debora's website at www.DeboraLCarr.com for more information on her books or to contact her with weird New Mexico sights and stories you think might be of interest or worthy of inclusion in future books
