Book Synopsis Modeling and Construction of a Computer Controlled Air Conditioning System by :
Download or read book Modeling and Construction of a Computer Controlled Air Conditioning System written by and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As energy efficient devices become more necessary, it is desired to increase the efficiency of air conditioning systems. Current systems use on/off control, where the unit primarily operates in the long lasting start up transients. A proposed solution is an air conditioning unit that runs continuously with active computer control implemented to maximize efficiency. The objective of this thesis is to develop a mathematical model for a specific air conditioning unit and to compare this model to measurements made on the specific unit. This model can then be used to develop a multi-input multi-output control law in the future. In this thesis, a linearized moving interface lumped parameter model is presented, and the derivation verified with great detail. The model predicts transient perturbations from a steady state operating point. The air conditioner tested in this work required several modifications including the addition of sensors and controllers. A description of the system is provided. Methods used to determine all of the parameters for the model are given with explanation. The model is simulated with computer software and compared with experimental data. Simulations predict the final value of superheat and pressures in the evaporator and condenser well for step changes in the compressor speed and expansion valve opening.

Book Synopsis Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems by : Napoleon Enteria
Download or read book Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems written by Napoleon Enteria and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-01-31 with total page 251 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book compiles the latest research, development, and application of VRF systems with contributions from various experts who pioneered and contributed to the development of the VRF system. This book presents the fundamental issues related to the real application and behaviour of the VRF system based on the long-term monitoring of the installed system. With our experience of pandemic which COVID-19 is an airborne, the spread of the virus is very fast. With this, the heating, ventilating and air-conditioning (HVAC) system is a major player in the maintenance and control of indoor environment to minimize the spread of the virus. As the variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system is a versatile HVAC system in which it can operate at different conditions, the application of the VRF system is very important to control the indoor environmental conditions. Thus, the publication of this book is important with the present situation and the future possible situation which the control of indoor spaces is very important. With this, this book will serve as a reference for building designer, contractors, building regulators and students.

Book Synopsis Building Heat Transfer by : Morris Grenfell Davies
Download or read book Building Heat Transfer written by Morris Grenfell Davies and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2004-06-25 with total page 524 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A third or more of the energy consumption of industrialized countries is expended on creating acceptable thermal and lighting conditions in buildings. As a result, building heat transfer is keenly important to the design of buildings, and the resulting analytical theory forms the basis of most design procedures. Analytical Theory of Building Heat Transfer is the first comprehensive reference of its kind, a one-volume compilation of current findings on heat transfer relating to the thermal behavior of buildings, forming a logical basis for current design procedures.
