Book Synopsis Empowerment Evaluation by : David M. Fetterman
Download or read book Empowerment Evaluation written by David M. Fetterman and published by SAGE. This book was released on 1996 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This outstanding group of evaluators from academia, government, nonprofits, and foundations explores empowerment evaluation, a method for using evaluation concepts, techniques, and findings to foster improvement and self-determination. Empowerment Evaluation begins with an in-depth examination of this type of evaluation as it has been adopted in academic and foundation settings. The book then focuses on the various contexts in which empowerment evaluation is conducted, ranging from resistant environments (in which significant effort is required to move from passive-compliance orientations) to responsive environments (that already have a tradition of self-determination and community organizing). Interesting highlights concerning the role empowerment evaluation has played in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' substance abuse prevention programs are detailed throughout the book. The contributors also provide down-to-earth tools and technical assistance needed to conduct empowerment evaluation. This volume concludes with themes that emerge from the chapters and recommendations concerning next steps. This serves to strengthen the links between empowerment evaluation and community capacity building. empow

Book Synopsis The Spiritual Self-Assessment Interview by : John Wesley Knight III
Download or read book The Spiritual Self-Assessment Interview written by John Wesley Knight III and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2018-12-19 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of The Spiritual Self-Assessment Interview is for individuals to take a deeper look at their spiritual relationship with God and evaluate themselves on how well they are living out what they profess. This first of its kind book will encourage you and provide you with a tool to help measure areas that can be improved upon. It will also give you a sense of accomplishment as you will vividly see areas where you have done well. This, I see as a fresh perspective to challenge the way we think in our current culture. We are evaluated at our place of work and given a 90-day review, mid-year review and an annual review. We then strive to do our very best to improve in areas where we fall short for our employer. If we are willing to challenge ourselves to do better due to the critique of man, how much more should we be willing to do whatever it takes to improve ourselves for our God?

Book Synopsis Statement by the Managing Director on the Independent Evaluation Office Report on Self-Evaluation at the IMF - An IEO Assessment - Executive Board Meeting - September 18, 2015 by : International Monetary Fund
Download or read book Statement by the Managing Director on the Independent Evaluation Office Report on Self-Evaluation at the IMF - An IEO Assessment - Executive Board Meeting - September 18, 2015 written by International Monetary Fund and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2015-03-09 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The thrust of the report’s recommendations to strengthen the institutional framework for self-evaluation, adapt it over time to changing circumstances, and better disseminate lessons from self-evaluation are well taken. I believe, however, that there is considerable scope to address these recommendations by refining and building on existing processes and initiatives already underway rather than by introducing substantial new architecture. I see limited value added relative to the costs in following through with the report’s two other key recommendations; namely, to conduct self-assessment for every IMF-supported program and to set out plans ex ante to self-evaluate every policy and thematic review.

Book Synopsis Global Perspectives on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education Institutions by : Magd, Hesham
Download or read book Global Perspectives on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education Institutions written by Magd, Hesham and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-09-17 with total page 378 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Quality accreditation in higher education institutions (HEIs) is currently a buzzword. The need to maintain high-quality education standards is a critical requirement for HEIs to remain competitive in the market and for government and regulatory bodies to ensure the quality standards of programs offered. From being an implicit requirement that is internally addressed, quality assurance activities become an explicit requirement that is regularly audited and appraised by national and international accreditation agencies. HEIs are voluntarily integrating quality management systems (QMS), institutional and program-specific, in response to the political and competitive environment in which it exists. Through its higher education department or by creating non-profitable accreditation bodies, many governments have implemented a quality framework for licensing HEIs and invigilates its adherence based on which accreditation statuses are granted for HEIs. Global Perspectives on Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education Institutions provides a comprehensive framework for HEIs to address quality assurance and quality accreditation requirements and serves as a practical tool to develop and deploy well-defined quality management systems in higher education. The book focuses on the critical aspects of quality assurance; the need to develop a concise and agile vision, mission, values, and graduate attributes; and to develop a system that effectively aligns the various activities of the HEI to the attainment of the strategic priorities listed in the institutional plans. The chapters each cover the various facets of the quality assurance framework and accreditation agencies' requirements with practical examples of each. This book is useful for HEI administrators, quality assurance specialists in HEIs, heads of academic departments, internal auditors, external auditors, and other practitioners of quality, along with stakeholders, researchers, academicians, and students interested in quality assurance and accreditation in higher education.
