Book excerpt: This PhD thesis developed a multi-scale spatial allocation optimization methodology to aids policy makers prioritize SUDS implementation considering urban runoff, CSOs, and SSOs reduction, and apply it to the case study of Bogotá (Colombia). The document allows to understand how DSTs for SUDS optimal allocation are being conceived worldwide, and to identify: criteria used for siting and selecting SUDS typologies, questions that the tool assist in answering, modelling programs used, and potential gaps in knowledge. A two-step methodology is proposed to determine where and which SUDS typology should be located to maximize its hydrologic positive impact. The first step uses a city-wide Urban Drainage Model (UDM) and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) derived from satellite images to determine which sub-catchments should be prioritized to optimize the benefits on terms of runoff volume and CSOs. The second step uses a stochastic Mixed Integer Linear Program (MILP) and a participatory approach to engage stakeholders...
