Download or read book Adjuvants and Agrochemicals written by Paul N. P. Chow and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-01-18 with total page 327 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Studies of Adjuvants involve many scientific fields from basic research of the chemistry, through investigations into physiological effects and environmental impact, to mixture formulation and field use. These important areas are illustrated in these two volumes, which are contributions from the First International Symposium on Adjuvants for Agrochemicals, held in Brandon, Manitoba on August 5 to 7, 1986. A total of 200 participants from 19 countries met to discuss their common interest in adjuvant science, technology, and application. It is the editors hope that these volumes will stimulate interest in and promote a better understanding of the chemical, physiological, and agronomic aspects of adjuvants as they relate agrochemicals. In addition, the revisedAdjuvants for Agrochemicals: A Selected Bibliography of World Literature in the English Language will be a valuable resource for agricultural researchers and other users. We hope that adjuvant research will lead to even safer, more efficient, and more economical use of chemicals in agriculture and forestry.
Book Synopsis Managing Agricultural Residues by : Paul W. Unger
Download or read book Managing Agricultural Residues written by Paul W. Unger and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1994-03-16 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many agriculturalists, conservationists, and environmentalists are stressing the importance of sustaining soil productivity so that future generations will have adequate productive land on which to produce food. One significant factor affecting soil productivity is the retention of crop residues on the surface of the soil to help control soil erosion. This book provides a review of the vast amount of literature on the subject, condensing the findings in a comprehensive, easy-to-understand manner. It focuses on topics such as erosion control, crop production in systems involving surface residues, residue use for fuel and animal feed, plant pathogens, insects, soil properties, and the economics of conservation tillage.
Book Synopsis Pesticide Application Methods by : Graham Matthews
Download or read book Pesticide Application Methods written by Graham Matthews and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2008-04-15 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pesticide Application Methods is the standard work for all those involved in crop protection. This fully revised edition provides up-to-date information on the different types of application techniques and how they should be used to ensure efficient and effective pest control. Detailed information is provided on the role of chemical control in crop protection: targets, formulations and droplets, spray quality and the choice of nozzles are discussed, as are improvements in the design of new equipment, safety precautions and maintenance issues. Two new chapters highlight the application of biological pesticides and equipment used in the evaluation of pesticides. This important new edition is a commercially important reference tool and will be of great use and interest to all those working in crop protection, including agricultural entomologists and plant pathologists, pesticide scientists, advisors and consultants, large-scale growers, agricultural and horticultural scientists, agrochemical industry personnel including those involved in equipment supply and product formulation. Libraries in government and commercial research establishments, universities and agricultural colleges and anywhere the subject is taught or studied should have multiple copies of this definitive book on their shelves.

Book Synopsis Pesticide Application Equipment for Use in Agriculture (Vol. 1) by : G.A. Matthews
Download or read book Pesticide Application Equipment for Use in Agriculture (Vol. 1) written by G.A. Matthews and published by Scientific Publishers - UBP. This book was released on 2019-02-01 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the main types of manually-operated or manually-carried pesticide application equipment. Most of the small-scale farmers in the developing countries, who have used pesticides, rely on a lever operated knapsack sprayer. These sprayers are now manufactured in many of the developing countries, who are introducing modern designs. The details of the design and the types of nozzle needed to treat crops and improve safety to the user are described. Changes in manufacturing techniques are resulting in certain plastics being used instead of brass. The less expensive compression sprayers are also described as these may become more important on the smallest farms. Details of the range of nozzles that can be used with hydraulic sprayers are given so the user can make a better selection of nozzle to apply pesticides more efficiently. Equipment used to apply reduced volumnes such as the spinning disc applicators is important, especially in areas where water supplies are difficult to obtain. Fog, granule, dust and other special applicators are also described. Specifications for the main types of applicator are given to assist those who have to purchase the equipment. The remaining sections provide guidance on safe application of pesticides and maintenance of the equipment. A glossary of terms is included.
