They sense the predicament and one of them goes for an aged Green Turtle. The turtle has been enjoying a relationship with the owner of a sailboat anchored in a remote cove on a nearby island. Thus begins the account of what happens to two successful individuals who are in the process of examining their lives in an effort to understand what really does constitute success in life. The woman and her husband own a prime penthouse condo overlooking Central Park in New York. They also have a get-away villa on the out-island of Elbow Cay. (Continued on back flap) The also middle-aged man is a major high-rise building contractor and developer from New Orleans. He is on a self-imposed sailing sabbatical in an effort to try to determine his real preferences in living and where he would next like to go with his options. He is solo except for an amiable West Highland terrier. Because of a misunderstanding and the currently precarious financial situation of the woman's husband back in New York, a mafia contract is placed on the man's head. In addition to dealing with the problems facing these two people and those close to them, including their near-death experiences, an insight is provided for consideration of what might actually be involved in the concept of Bahamas island living. Mid-life crisis? Luck of the draw? Self-induced psychotherapy for determining what individual preferences arerealistically achievable in trying to maximize one's quality of life? These are addressed by those whom fate has thrown together on the paradise that is Hopetown, Elbow Cay.....
