Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Christians look with hope to the resurrection of the dead and the restoration of all things. But what of those who have already died? Do they also await these things, or have they in some sense already happened for them? Within the Catholic theological community, this question has traditionally been answered in terms of the disembodied souls of human beings awaiting bodily resurrection. Since the 1960s, Catholic theologians have proposed two alternatives: resurrection at death into the Last Day and the consummation of all things, or resurrection in death into an interim state in which the embodied dead await, with us, the final consummation of all things. This book critically examines the Scriptural, philosophical and theological reasons for these alternatives and, on the basis of this analysis, offers an account of the traditional schema which makes clear that in spite of these challenges it remains the preferable option.
Book Synopsis Did Jesus Rise From the Dead? by : Gary R. Habermas
Download or read book Did Jesus Rise From the Dead? written by Gary R. Habermas and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2003-12-04 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: [This] is the most important question regarding the claims of the Christian faith. Certainly no question in modern religious history demands more attention or interest, as witnessed by the vast body of literature dealing with the Resurrection. James I. Packer says it well in his response to this debate: 'When Christians are asked to make good their claim that this scheme is truth, they point to Jesus' resurrection. The Easter event, so they affirm, demonstrated Jesus' deity; validated his teaching; attested to the completion of his work of atonement for sin; confirms his present cosmic dominion and coming reappearance as Judge; assures us that his personal pardon, presence, and power in people's lives today is fact; and guarantees each believer's own reembodiment by Resurrection in the world to come.' The Apostle Paul considered the Resurrection to be the cornerstone of the Christian faith. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, the whole structure, Christianity, collapses. Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:14-17, 'And if Christ has not been raised, 'our preaching is useless and so is you faith.' More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God. . . . And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile [emphasis added].' The Christian faith-and its claim to be Truth-exists only if Jesus rose from the dead. The heart of Christianity is a living Christ.

Book excerpt: What begins as a simple animal rights demonstration leads to a stolen experiment and a conspiracy that may not only bring down the US Government, but destroy civilization as we know it! "Mr. President? We have... a situation." With that simple statement, the President and his advisors found themselves whisked away to a secure location. Their goal: To find a solution to a biological outbreak that could overtake the country. And to do so without anyone knowing how close humanity has come to the brink. But what about the citizens they are trying to protect? Those who would be most affected because they were kept in dark? These are their stories. The stories of the common man, the unwitting doctor, and the shady organization trying to clean up a mess they didn't know they were creating.... This is...The Debate of the Dead. The game made popular at conventions by its creators, lost gamers productions, is now a collection of riveting tales from Pro Se Productions.

Book Synopsis The Strange Death of Europe by : Douglas Murray
Download or read book The Strange Death of Europe written by Douglas Murray and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2018-06-14 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Strange Death of Europe is the internationally bestselling account of a continent and a culture caught in the act of suicide, now updated with new material taking in developments since it was first published to huge acclaim. These include rapid changes in the dynamics of global politics, world leadership and terror attacks across Europe. Douglas Murray travels across Europe to examine first-hand how mass immigration, cultivated self-distrust and delusion have contributed to a continent in the grips of its own demise. From the shores of Lampedusa to migrant camps in Greece, from Cologne to London, he looks critically at the factors that have come together to make Europeans unable to argue for themselves and incapable of resisting their alteration as a society. Murray's "tremendous and shattering" book (The Times) addresses the disappointing failures of multiculturalism, Angela Merkel's U-turn on migration, the lack of repatriation and the Western fixation on guilt, uncovering the malaise at the very heart of the European culture. His conclusion is bleak, but the predictions not irrevocable. As Murray argues, this may be our last chance to change the outcome, before it's too late.
