Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book of poems was my second edition. Writing poems is a newer gift to me from God. I wrote my first poem February 28th 2012. This new book actually exceeded even my expectations. My first book contained approximately 75 God inspired poems. This latest book has approximately 150 God inspired poems. It seemed daily that I would be inspired to write a poem or sometimes two or three. Sometimes watching a church program on TV would suddenly give me this incredible inspiration to write. Each poem was a very special inspiration for that day. I never really had no knowledge of the subject or focus of the poem in advance. It was actually exciting to generate a poem as the words came to me supernaturally. It seemed that there was a poem for just about any problem or situation. Some of the poems, I admit, I really didn't want to write because they were so controversial. These poems are now read all over the world and I receive emails daily from about 40 countries. I thank God that this little ministry is now reaching thousands, and proclaiming the truth of the gospel in poetry.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: These poems I write are a gift from God. I am only a scribe not the author, I know to many I’m odd. I don’t take credit for these incredible God-inspired poems. I’m hoping many will read them worldwide in their homes. God reveals some exciting concepts it seems every day. Many times when I start the poems I don’t know what He’ll say. But, as each poem starts to develop I got the idea. Then the meaning behind the poems becomes quite clear. Every day it seems there is another treasure in print. Sometimes I asked God what He wants me to write, or just give me a hint. Many times I got the idea – the poems was intended just for me. Other times, my poems hit home with you – I’m sure you’ll agree. In this time of unrest and turmoil we need God’s guidance it’s true. Sometimes without God’s guidance we wouldn’t know what to do. Thank God that He doesn’t change – His word is always true. So, study the Word, pray and talk to God, He loves to hear from you!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God gives me these poems, they are like a seed. They are written for all and any that are in need. These poems answer a problem or situation for some. Yes! They are designed to help people, but not everyone. Each person has a challenge going on in their life. These circumstances can cause quarrels, heartaches and strife. Jesus didn't cause these, He came to give us abundant life. So, when bad things happen, don't blame your husband or wife. Satan, the enemy, wants to make you miserable today. So, it's very important to watch what you think, do and say. Speak kind words, think pure thoughts, and do good deeds. And, when you are helping others don't be stingy, instead exceed. Remember, God is watching, and He knows what's going on. In these days and times, we must remain strong. It's so good to know that this isn't all there is, or will be. As Christians, hallelujah! We can look forward to heaven for eternity. Seeds as we all know, take time to sprout and mature. Thus, these poems from me, will be available for evermore. They may not help you today, but they will help some. And, when I write what I am told, then my work is done

Book excerpt: Reclaim Your Headspace and Find Your One True Voice As a hospital chaplain, J.S. Park encountered hundreds of patients at the edge of life and death, listening as they urgently shared their stories, confessions, and final words. J.S. began to identify patterns in his patients’ lives—patterns he also saw in his own life. He began to see that the events and traumas we experience throughout life become deafening voices that remain within us, even when the events are far in the past. He was surprised to find that in hearing the voices of his patients, he began to identify his own voices and all the ways they could both harm and heal. In The Voices We Carry, J.S. draws from his experiences as a hospital chaplain to present the Voices Model. This model explores the four internal voices of self-doubt, pride, people-pleasing, and judgment, and the four external voices of trauma, guilt, grief, and family dynamics. He also draws from his Asian-American upbringing to examine the challenges of identity and feeling “other.” J.S. outlines how to wrestle with our voices, and even befriend them, how to find our authentic voice in a world of mixed messages, and how to empower those who are voiceless. Filled with evidence-based research, spiritual and psychological insights, and stories of patient encounters, The Voices We Carry is an inspiring memoir of unexpected growth, humor, and what matters most. For those wading through a world of clamor and noise, this is a guide to find your clear, steady voice.

Book excerpt: Gathering together thoughts and visions of experienced practitioners, academics, educators and strategic leaders from around the world, this edited volume sheds light on the nature of chaplaincy and its role and significance within ever-changing contemporary healthcare systems. A wide range of issues central to spiritual care delivery are covered, including reflections on what it feels like to be cared for by a chaplain through illness; the nature of chaplaincy as a profession; and how chaplains can engage with healthcare institutions in ways that have integrity yet are also deeply spiritual. The focus throughout is that chaplaincy should not only be guidance for people in distress, as a form of crisis intervention, but is rather about helping to promote wellbeing and enhance people's quality of life. Where specialisms tend to fragment systems and individuals, this book seeks to show that true health and wellbeing can only be found through a holistic approach, and shows how chaplaincy can bring this to the table. This book is for anyone who recognises the centrality of spirituality for wellbeing, and wishes to see what that might look like in practice.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who were early modern chaplains and what did they do? Chaplains are well known to have been pivotal figures within early modern England, their activities ranging from more conventionally religious roles (conducting church services, offering spiritual advice and instruction) to a surprisingly wide array of literary functions (writing poetry, or acting as scribes and editors). Chaplains in early modern England: Patronage, literature and religion explores the important, but often neglected, contributions made by chaplains of different kinds – royal, episcopal, noble, gentry, diplomatic – to early modern English culture. Addressing a period from the late sixteenth to the early eighteenth centuries, it focuses on chaplains from the Church of England, examining their roles in church and politics, and within both domestic and cultural life. It also shows how understanding the significance of chaplains can illuminate wider cultural practices – patronage, religious life and institutions, and literary production – in the early modern period.

A collection like this could be placed in hospitals, hospices, churches, or waiting rooms in doctor's offices." -Fr. Barry Martinson, S.J. "What human reflections and wonderful expressions of pastoral care. Poems about her brother are very special. I am touched by her gentle spirit." -MaryLee Buess, Chaplain, Sharp Mary Birch Hospital, San Diego, California "For many years I have rejoiced in Josie's words, and the pauses between the words, which bring resonance to my own life experiences." -Fr. Bernard F.Cassidy, S.J., St. Francis Hospice, Honolulu, Hawaii "As a pediatric hospice nurse, I could relate so well to these poems. It is an honor to be able to work with families who are going through this journey with their child. Josie captured so well the feelings of these families and children. May you all share this experience through her poetry." -Karalee Davis, R.N.
