Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We want to have it all: financial strength, secure homes, clean air and water for our children. With the latest technological advances available, we deserve to have every dilemma resolved. Isn't that the way it's supposed to work? Hope in Troubled Times dares to say "no." Poverty, terrorism, and overtaxed land are planetary problems that make even believers despair. But the authors point to Christ as the source of hope. Our choice is obvious. We work together, learning to live unselfishly, or we watch civilization sink further into the abyss. With a foreword by renowned human rights activist Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Hope in Troubled Times provides real-world solutions to life-threatening problems. The authors show that with God's guidance we can knock down the idols that stunt clear thinking.

I couldnt talk well and had to go to speech therapy. I couldnt walk and went to physical therapy. I couldnt write and had to retrain myself by writing in my journal. My muscles in my body felt useless, and I had to start over. I was determined to get back 100 percent especially after I found out that the doctors wanted to pull the plug on me several times. As I started writing, I couldnt read a word, but I kept at it, determined to win my battle. I practiced over and over to get better. I started to write down what was in my heart. It was a way to recuperate. I was supposed to die, but God wanted me to live for some reason. As I wrote in my journals, my experiences stated coming out as poems. I started sharing my poems to hurting people. Many doors opened as I shared my experiences. I hope you will enjoy my healing adventure through my poetry.

It is not a time to slash and burn it indiscriminately across the board. Nor is it the time to hunker down in the bunker and wait things out. Now is the time is exercise wisdom and to act strategically. In fact, it's a great time to be the church. People need us to live out our mission as radically as we can possibly imagine. This book will help you make wise decisions about how to weather the economic storm and emerge on the other side of it a much stronger congregation. It’s a simple book with a simple message: you don’t get to choose when you go through hard times, only how you respond to them.
