Book Synopsis Construcao da leitura e escrita: proposta de intervencao em classe especial para deficientes mentais by : Sahda Marta Ide
Download or read book Construcao da leitura e escrita: proposta de intervencao em classe especial para deficientes mentais written by Sahda Marta Ide and published by . This book was released on 1990 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Desta forma, a pesquisa teve duas diretizes basicas: a Diretriz Institucional e a Supervisao pedagogica. Book excerpt: “McGonigal is a clear, methodical writer, and her ideas are well argued. Assertions are backed by countless psychological studies.” —The Boston Globe “Powerful and provocative . . . McGonigal makes a persuasive case that games have a lot to teach us about how to make our lives, and the world, better.” —San Jose Mercury News “Jane McGonigal's insights have the elegant, compact, deadly simplicity of plutonium, and the same explosive force.” —Cory Doctorow, author of Little Brother A visionary game designer reveals how we can harness the power of games to boost global happiness. With 174 million gamers in the United States alone, we now live in a world where every generation will be a gamer generation. But why, Jane McGonigal asks, should games be used for escapist entertainment alone? In this groundbreaking book, she shows how we can leverage the power of games to fix what is wrong with the real world-from social problems like depression and obesity to global issues like poverty and climate change-and introduces us to cutting-edge games that are already changing the business, education, and nonprofit worlds. Written for gamers and non-gamers alike, Reality Is Broken shows that the future will belong to those who can understand, design, and play games. Jane McGonigal is also the author of SuperBetter: A Revolutionary Approach to Getting Stronger, Happier, Braver and More Resilient.
Book Synopsis Psychodynamic Psychiatry in Clinical Practice by : Glen O. Gabbard
Download or read book Psychodynamic Psychiatry in Clinical Practice written by Glen O. Gabbard and published by American Psychiatric Pub. This book was released on 2014-04-16 with total page 656 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is difficult to improve on a classic, but the fifth edition of Psychodynamic Psychiatry in Clinical Practice does just that, offering the updates readers expect with a deft reorganization that integrates DSM-5® with the author's emphasis on psychodynamic thinking. The individual patient is never sacrificed to the diagnostic category, yet clinicians will find the guidance they need to apply DSM-5® appropriately. Each chapter has been systematically updated to reflect the myriad and manifold changes in the 9 years since the previous edition's publication. All 19 chapters have new references and cutting-edge material that will prepare psychiatrists and residents to treat patients with compassion and skill. The book offers the following features: Each chapter integrates new neurobiological findings with psychodynamic understanding so that clinicians can approach their patients with a truly biopsychosocial treatment plan. Excellent writing and an intuitive structure make complicated psychodynamic concepts easy to understand so that readers can grasp the practical application of theory in everyday practice. The book links clinical understanding to the new DSM-5® nomenclature so that clinicians and trainees can adapt psychodynamic thinking to the new conceptual models of disorders. New coverage of psychodynamic thinking with relation to the treatment of patients on the autism spectrum addresses an increasingly important practice area. Posttraumatic stress and dissociative disorders have been combined to allow for integrated coverage of primary psychiatric disorders related to trauma and stressors. A boon to clinicians in training and practice, the book has been meticulously edited and grounded in the latest research. The author firmly believes that clinicians must not lose the complexities of the person in the process of helping the patient. Psychodynamic Psychiatry in Clinical Practice, Fifth Edition, keeps this approach front and center as it engages, instructs, and exhorts the reader in the thoughtful, humane practice of psychodynamic psychiatry.

Book Synopsis Physical Literacy by : Margaret Whitehead
Download or read book Physical Literacy written by Margaret Whitehead and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2010-04-07 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is physical literacy? What are the benefits of being physically literate? The term ‘physical literacy’ describes the motivation, confidence, physical competence, understanding and knowledge that individuals develop in order to maintain physical activity at an appropriate level throughout their life. Physical literacy encompasses far more than physical education in schools or structured sporting activities, offering instead a broader conception of physical activity, unrelated to ability. Through the use of particular pedagogies and the adoption of new modes of thinking, physical literacy promises more realistic models of physical competence and physical activity for a wider population, offering opportunities for everyone to become active and motivated participants. This is the first book to fully explore the meaning and significance of this important and emerging concept, and also the first book to apply the concept to physical activity across the lifecourse, from infancy to old age. Physical Literacy – explaining the philosophical rationale behind the concept and also including contributions from leading thinkers, educationalists and practitioners – is essential reading for all students and professionals working in physical education, all areas of sport and exercise, and health.

Book Synopsis Distributed Creativity by : Vlad Petre Glăveanu
Download or read book Distributed Creativity written by Vlad Petre Glăveanu and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-03-28 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book challenges the standard view that creativity comes only from within an individual by arguing that creativity also exists ‘outside’ of the mind or more precisely, that the human mind extends through the means of action into the world. The notion of ‘distributed creativity’ is not commonly used within the literature and yet it has the potential to revolutionise the way we think about creativity, from how we define and measure it to what we can practically do to foster and develop creativity. Drawing on cultural psychology, ecological psychology and advances in cognitive science, this book offers a basic framework for the study of distributed creativity that considers three main dimensions of creative work: sociality, materiality and temporality. Starting from the premise that creativity is distributed between people, between people and objects and across time, the book reviews theories and empirical examples that help us unpack each of these dimensions and above all, articulate them into a novel and meaningful conception of creativity as a simultaneously psychological and socio-material process. The volume concludes by examining the practical implications in adopting this perspective on creativity.
Book Synopsis Instructional Models in Physical Education by : Michael Metzler
Download or read book Instructional Models in Physical Education written by Michael Metzler and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-06-30 with total page 550 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ensures that physical educators are fully armed with a comprehensive plan for incorporating instructional models in their teaching! Instructional Models for Physical Education has two primary goals for its readers. The first is to familiarize them with the notion of model-based instruction for physical education, including the components and dimensions that determine a model's pattern of teaching and how to select the most effective model for student learning in a particular unit. The second goal is to describe each of the instructional models in such a way to give readers enough information to use any of the models with confidence and good results. The book includes everything readers will need for planning, implementing, and assessing when teaching with instructional models. It will help readers incorporate research-based practices in their lessons, adapt activities to include students of varying abilities, and teach to standards. Models tied to NASPE standards! The author has revised the third edition to show how using the instructional models can help teachers meet specific NASPE standards. The book demonstrates the connection of NASPE standards with the models and clarifies that connection for students. In addition, a table in each of the model chapters shows explicitly how the model aligns with NASPE standards.

Download or read book Creativity in the Classroom written by Alane J. Starko and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2010 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The fourth edition of this well-known text continues the mission of its predecessors âe" to help teachers link creativity research and theory to the everyday activities of classroom teaching. Part I (chs 1-5) includes information on models and theories of creativity, characteristics of creative people, and talent development. Part II (chapters 6-10) includes strategies explicitly designed to teach creative thinking, to weave creative thinking into content area instruction, and to organize basic classroom activities (grouping, lesson planning, assessment, motivation and classroom organization) in ways that support studentsâe(tm) creativity. Changes in this Edition: Improved Organization -- This edition has been reorganized from 8 to 10 chapters allowing the presentation of theoretical material in clearer, more manageable chunks. New Material âe" In addition to general updating, there are more examples involving middle and secondary school teaching, more examples linking creativity to technology, new information on the misdiagnosis of creative students as ADHD, and more material on cross-cultural concepts of creativity, collaborative creativity, and linking creativity to state standards. Pedagogy & Design âe" Chapter-opening vignettes, within-chapter reflection questions and activities, sample lesson ideas from real teachers, and end-of-chapter journaling activities help readers adapt content to their own teaching situations. Also, a larger trim makes the layout more open and appealing and a single end-of-book reference section makes referencing easier. Targeted specifically to educators (but useful to others), this book is suitable for any course that deals wholly or partly with creativity in teaching, teaching the gifted and talented, or teaching thinking and problem solving. Such courses are variously found in departments of special education, early childhood education, curriculum and instruction, or educational psychology.
