Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A devastating accident took the life of one family member, left another in a coma, and sent me on a voyage that changed my life forever. It wasn't until that fateful day I truly believed the afterlife existed and how my life would be judged. Before the accident, everything I knew about the afterlife would have fit on the tip of a toothpick. I was never sure about whether it even existed. Now that I've had the experience, I have a different outlook altogether. We all make choices while we live out our life, and it is those choices that will decide our eternity. Some of the afterlife's mysteries are simple to understand, others not so much. It is regrettable that the only way to know for sure there is life after death is to experience it. Some, like myself, are lucky as we get to talk about it. I'm not sure if I read this book before my personal experience, I would believe a word of it. But I wrote it for those who want to know what will happen to them once their life on earth ends and what to expect once they reach the other side.
Book Synopsis Processes, Terms and Cycles: Steps on the Road to Infinity by : Aart Middeldorp
Download or read book Processes, Terms and Cycles: Steps on the Road to Infinity written by Aart Middeldorp and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2005-12-13 with total page 655 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Festschrift is dedicated to Jan Willem Klop on the occasion of his 60th birthday. The volume comprises a total of 23 scientific papers by close friends and colleagues, written specifically for this book. The papers are different in nature: some report on new research, others have the character of a survey, and again others are mainly expository. Every contribution has been thoroughly refereed at least twice. In many cases the first round of referee reports led to significant revision of the original paper, which was again reviewed. The articles especially focus upon the lambda calculus, term rewriting and process algebra, the fields to which Jan Willem Klop has made fundamental contributions.

Book Synopsis Design Method for Two-dimensional Channels for Compressible Flow with Application to High-solidity Cascades by : Sumner Alpert
Download or read book Design Method for Two-dimensional Channels for Compressible Flow with Application to High-solidity Cascades written by Sumner Alpert and published by . This book was released on 1949 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A procedure is presented for design of two-dimensional channels for compressible nonviscous flow. The method requires boundary conditions consisting of the shape of one channel surface and the velocity distribution on that surface. The process consists of the step-by-step computation of an arbitrary number of streamlines within the channel.

Book Synopsis Digital Simulation in Electrochemistry by : D. Britz
Download or read book Digital Simulation in Electrochemistry written by D. Britz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 131 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the result of frustration. When I first became interested in digi tal simulation in 1967 (I didn't know the name then), there were no texts to tell one the how of it. This has not changed greatly since then; it is significant that just about all publications about the technique refer to a chapter by Feldberg in an electrochemical series, written in 1969. When I ran a course on the method recently, it became evident that this chapter is not enough for the raw beginner. Neither does he/she get much help from the mathematical textbooks which, at best, leave the special electrochemical aspects (if not a lot else) to one's imagination. This book, then, is written for practical digital simulators who do not have a friend who will tell them how to do it. The beauty of the digital approach is that one can separate out various dynamic processes taking place simultaneously. I have structured the book in this way. The major computing usually lies in the diffusion of substance, while the major program ming effort (and preparatory paper work) goes into the boundary conditions. These are treated separately.

Book Synopsis Bayesian Economics Through Numerical Methods by : Jeffrey H. Dorfman
Download or read book Bayesian Economics Through Numerical Methods written by Jeffrey H. Dorfman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-03-31 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Providing researchers in economics, finance, and statistics with an up-to-date introduction to applying Bayesian techniques to empirical studies, this book covers the full range of the new numerical techniques which have been developed over the last thirty years. Notably, these are: Monte Carlo sampling, antithetic replication, importance sampling, and Gibbs sampling. The author covers both advances in theory and modern approaches to numerical and applied problems, and includes applications drawn from a variety of different fields within economics, while also providing a quick overview of the underlying statistical ideas of Bayesian thought. The result is a book which presents a roadmap of applied economic questions that can now be addressed empirically with Bayesian methods. Consequently, many researchers will find this a readily readable survey of this growing topic.
