This vast corpus of material, ranging from simple leaflets to scholarly catalogs, contains textual and visual material as yet unmined for the study of Jewish art, religion, culture and history. Through highly-detailed, fully-indexed catalog entries, William Gross, Orly Tzion and Falk Wiesemann elucidate some 2,000 subjects, geographical locations and Judaica objects (ceremonial objects, illuminated manuscripts, printed books, synagogues, cemeteries et al.) addressed in these catalogs. Descriptions of the catalog's bibliographic components, contributors, exhibition history, and contents, all accessible through the volume's five indices, render this volume an unparalleled new resource for the study of Jewish Art, culture and history.
Download or read book Matt Keegan written by Matt Keegan and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first significant publication to explore the output of Matt Keegan, the New York-based artist known for his work across mediums, as well as independent publishing including the acclaimed editioned art journal North Drive Press. This monograph expands on a recent solo exhibition by the artist at Rogaland Kunstsenter; Stavanger, Norway, titled "Portable Document Format." The show was organized as an idiosyncratic retrospective, with Keegan remaking sculptures dating from 2006 to 2015, initially fabricated in Sheetrock and steel, in cardboard. Like the exhibition, the publication serves both as a project and a reference for the artist's work. Essays by Tom McDonough and John Miller theorize Keegan's production, while interviews with Sara VanDerBeek and Anna Craycroft underscore the artist's ongoing engagement with his peer group. Furthered by contributions from colleagues Uri Aran, Leslie Hewitt and James Richards, situated alongside full-color installation photos and reproductions of work from the past decade, Matt Keegan: OR provides a solid introduction and layered overview of the artist's multifarious practice.

Book Synopsis Zoological Catalogue of Australia by : G. Cassis
Download or read book Zoological Catalogue of Australia written by G. Cassis and published by CSIRO PUBLISHING. This book was released on 2002 with total page 760 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The infraorder Pentatomomorpha is the subject of the second volume in the Zoological Catalogue of Australia series dealing with the true bugs (the suborder Heteroptera). It includes the bark bugs, stilt bugs, seed bugs, cotton stainers, burrowing bugs, shield bugs and stink bugs. Many of these species are of significant economic importance both as pests and as natural enemies of other insect pests. In this catalogue, the authors propose a new classification for the Australian Heteroptera based on the most recent developments in heteropterology worldwide. The proposed classification departs significantly from all previous treatment of the Australian fauna. There is a comprehensive treatment of the classification and nomenclature of the Australian species and a thorough review of the literature concerned with the higher classification of the Pentatomomorpha. The volume gives detailed information on the distribution and ecology of each species and features the first in depth listing of their host associations, including a significant accounting of the plant associations. All species and generic synonymies are given, including extra-limital synonyms, along with detailed type specimen data. Features * Provides a new classification for the Australian Heteroptera, reflecting the most recent developments in Heteropterology worldwide * Covers 34 families, 439 genera and 1179 species * Completes the work for the Australian Heteroptera, complementing volume 27.3A * Includes comprehensive synonymical and bibliographic listings and detailed distribution information * Gives the first listing of the host plants of the Pentatomomorpha in Australia * Sample
