Mehrsprachigkeit wird aber in unserer Gesellschaft auf verschiedenster Weise angese-hen und bewertet. Einerseits wird sie als individuelle oder gesellschaftliche Bereiche-rung betrachtet, andererseits gilt sie für ein Hindernis bzw. es wird ein Zusammenhang zwischen der Mehrsprachigkeit und Sprachstörungen gesehen. Einsprachigkeit wird oft als Normalzustand der Gesellschaft bewertet und zeigt somit die Vorstellung der Ge-sellschaft von ihrem sprachhomogenen Nationalstaates, die in der Zeit der Globalisie-rung eine längst veraltete Vorstellung sein könnte. Es gibt verschiedene Gründe warum Menschen eine andere Sprache sprechen. Sie ha-ben z.B. einen Migrationshintergrund, sie waren zeitweise im Ausland oder das Land ist offiziell zweisprachig und bietet den Schulen die Möglichkeit, beide Landessprachen zu lehren. Da es in der Wissenschaft viele Fallbeispiele über die Zweisprachigkeit in einer monolinguistischen Gesellschaft gibt, möchte ich die Mehrsprachigkeit am Beispiel ei-ner Person betrachten, die in einer diglossischen Gesellschaft aufgewachsen ist und so-mit mehr als eine Sprache beherrschen musste. Außerdem befindet sich das Land und seine Sprachenpolitik in einer besonderen Situation, die den Spracherwerb auf verschie-denster Weise lenken. Mit dieser Fallstudie möchte ich aufzeigen, dass Mehrsprachigkeit nicht negativ be-trachtet werden sollte bzw. dass Einsprachigkeit nicht die Normalität in der Gesellschaft bildet, an der man sich orientieren soll. Zu beachten ist, dass dies meine erste Fallstudie ist und ich das erste Mal eine empiri-sche Untersuchung durchführe. Des Weiteren werde ich versuchen die von mir erhobe-nen Daten so objektiv wie möglich zu analysieren und zu bewerten, obwohl das Bewer-ten schon eine relative Objektivität fast ausschließt. Der Aufbau der vorliegenden Arbeit sieht wie folgt aus: Nach einer kurzen Beschrei-bung der Erhebungsmethode, wobei ich auch auf die Schwierigkeiten die mir bei der Untersuchung begegnet sind eingehen werde, wird im Kapitel drei die von mir unter-suchte Person vorgestellt und näher beschrieben. Im Anschluss daran widmet sich das vierte Kapitel der umgebenden Gesellschaft, einem kurzen geschichtlichen Hintergrund sowie der Sprachenpolitik des Landes, damit der Erwerb der Zweitsprache besser ver-standen werden konn

Migration plays a key role in these processes, bringing changes not just in social, cultural, religious, and linguistic phenomena, but also in the ways that these phenomena combine with others like gender, age, and legal status. The concept of superdiversity has been adopted by scholars across the social sciences in order to address a variety of forms, modes, and outcomes of diversification. Central to this field is the relationship between social categorization and social organization, including stratification and inequality. Increasingly complex categories of social “difference” have significant impacts across scales, from entire societies to individual identities. While diversification is often met with simplifying stereotypes, threat narratives, and expressions of antagonism, superdiversity encourages a perspective on difference as comprising multiple social processes, flexible collective meanings, and overlapping personal and group identities. A superdiversity approach encourages the re-evaluation and recognition of social categories as multidimensional, unfixed, and porous as opposed to views based on hardened, one-dimensional thinking about groups. Diversification and increasing social complexity are bound to continue, if not intensify, in light of climate change. This will have profound impacts on the nature of global migration, social relations, and inequalities. Superdiversity presents a convincing case for recognizing new social formations created by changing migration patterns and calls for a re-thinking of public policy and social scientific approaches to social difference. This introduction to the multidisciplinary concept of superdiversity will be of considerable interest to students and researchers in a range of fields in the humanities and social sciences.
