Because many women have experienced the effects of the other women destroying their lives and marriages they may not take an objective view. I completely understand and will whole heartedly be sympathetic and take their feelings into consideration. There is obviously at least 3 sides to the story of a love triangle and I intend to give all of their perspectives a thorough evaluation. This will get complex but I will break it down into small portions so that everyone can digest it from their own individual levels of comprehension. So let’s take a journey into the realm of the realities of getting caught up in a love TKO. It is my opinion that serious committed unions are a product of the individuals involved. Meaning that you can only get out of a relationship what you put into it. It is a work in progress. Some members wake up late, never show up on time, and don’t put any work into it at all. While others clock in early, be productive, and show pride in their accomplishments. It is a team concept. The goal is to build a solid team that can overcome all of the obstacles put before them. It is never easy and full of all of the challenges that life has to offer. There is beauty in taking on these encounters as a fully functional unit and working as a couple to take on the world while becoming a championship caliber contender. This just doesn’t happen overnight. It takes years of getting to know each other intimately and intensely. Here is where things get even more complicated. When another man or woman gets added to the equation. For the purpose of this conversation we are going to discuss the other women which is commonly referred to as a side dish. She is an unwanted distraction to the female participant in this scenario because it was never her intension to share him with another member of the female persuasion or be replaced by her for that matter. Her introduction was unwanted and unnecessary. She can only cause a separation or destruction of the entire structure that you worked diligently in building with him. The competitive nature is alive and transforming the entire concept of what was once a loving commitment into an Olympic event with several opposing forces. Some women concede and move on to the next admirer while others lock horns and duel for his affections. However things play themselves out it will never be as it was before the act of betrayal. Women are getting more and more frustrated with the lying and cheating ways of their male counterparts. They may realistically feel as if they are fighting a losing battle. This is something that I often overhear in passing. Apparently side chicks are winning the war.

Book excerpt: As the father of three daughters, the author became extremely concerned about the rapid and constant erosion of female dignity in our society -- video vixens, sex tapes, multiple sex partners, etc. Research shows that girls with an unstable father figure are more likely to have an unplanned pregnancy, low self-esteem, be a school dropout, and become involved in drugs and alcohol. This book should be read by every father, as a no-holds-barred guide to having a heart-to-heart life-changing talk with their daughters. It should also be placed into the hands of every young woman -- even if there is no father figure present in her life. This candid advice will help her become assertive, proactive, productive, and creative as she grows into adulthood.

Book excerpt: "To have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part."Those last five words are what Skylar zeroes in on. She isn't dead, which technically means Jacob is still hers. She isn't sinning at all. He still belongs to me, Skylar rationalizes. This is not your typical "husband cheats, wife cries, they divorce, ex-husband marries his side chick" story. When Jacob meets Skylar, sparks ignite instantly. Five years down, a lifetime to go, and explosive chemistry that's as vital as their next breath. Year six, though? That's when things start to unravel. The love they thought they built just might be more fragile than they ever imagined. The worst type of temptation, Ava tricks her way into Jacob's heart, doing everything in her power to lay claim to a love she believes is her destiny. Her mission is simple: get rid of the ex and become the next. Unfortunately, Ava made a grave mistake in underestimating Skylar. Will Ava discover she's met her match before it's too late?Side chicks are the worst of the worst. Scavengers. Stuck on repeat, that mantra haunts Skylar daily. Five years of "better" felt like heaven, but it's not enough to make up for the "worse" that shattered her happily ever after. A fool in love, Skylar will never be. Good girls don't get mad, they get even; so, who will be left standing in the end. On the other side of 'til death do us part' is Max. A handsome widower, he has two things on his mind: raising his daughter and avoiding love at all costs. Unfortunately, the heart wants what the heart wants. When Max crosses paths with the type of woman who reminds him how to open his heart again to love and lust, his life will forever be changed. He's Still My Husband brings you a tangled web of karma, and everyone knows that karma is a bad chick whose debts can never be paid in full. Husband, side chick, dog, cat, goldfish-everyone pays when karma shows up. Turn the page and start reading today to find out if side chicks really stay winning.

Book excerpt: 'Luminous, elegant, haunting, - I read it straight through' Philippe Sands, Author of East West Street The enthralling story of a man's search for the truth about his family's past The last time Lien saw her parents was in the Hague when she was collected at the door by a stranger and taken to a city far away to be hidden from the Nazis. She was raised by her foster family as one of their own, but a falling out well after the war meant they were no longer in touch. What was her side of the story, Bart van Es - a grandson of the couple who looked after Lien - wondered? What really happened during the war, and after? So began an investigation that would consume and transform both Bart van Es's life and Lien's. Lien was now in her 80s and living in Amsterdam. Reluctantly, she agreed to meet him, and eventually they struck up a remarkable friendship. The Cut Out Girl braids together a powerful recreation of Lien's intensely harrowing childhood story with the present-day account of Bart's efforts to piece that story together. And it embraces the wider picture, too, for Holland was more cooperative in rounding up its Jews for the Nazis than any other Western European country; that is part of Lien's story too. This is an astonishing, moving reckoning with a young girl's struggle for survival during war. It is a story about the powerful love and challenges of foster families, and about the ways our most painful experiences - so crucial in defining us - can also be redefined. 'Remarkable, deeply moving' Penelope Lively 'An awe-inspiring account of the tragedies and triumphs within the world of the Holocaust's "hide-away" children, and of the families who sheltered them' Georgia Hunter 'A complex and uplifting tale' Kirkus

But the day she becomes a foster child, and moves in with the Murphys, she's blindsided. This loving, bustling family shows Carley the stable family life she never thought existed, and she feels like an alien in their cookie-cutter-perfect household. She's not really a Murphy, but the gifts they've given her have opened up a new future. "Hunt's writing is fearless and One For The Murphys is a story that is at once compassionate, thought-provoking and beautifully told. From the first page, I was drawn into Carley's story. Americans have built an empire on the idea of “race,” a falsehood that damages us all but falls most heavily on the bodies of black women and men—bodies exploited through slavery and segregation, and, today, threatened, locked up, and murdered out of all proportion. What is it like to inhabit a black body and find a way to live within it? And how can we all honestly reckon with this fraught history and free ourselves from its burden? Between the World and Me is Ta-Nehisi Coates’s attempt to answer these questions in a letter to his adolescent son. Coates shares with his son—and readers—the story of his awakening to the truth about his place in the world through a series of revelatory experiences, from Howard University to Civil War battlefields, from the South Side of Chicago to Paris, from his childhood home to the living rooms of mothers whose children’s lives were taken as American plunder. Beautifully woven from personal narrative, reimagined history, and fresh, emotionally charged reportage, Between the World and Me clearly illuminates the past, bracingly confronts our present, and offers a transcendent vision for a way forward.

Book excerpt: One of the New York Post's Top 10 Career Books of 2012 and a Booklist Top 10 Business Book DO YOU WORK WITH A MEAN GIRL? A woman’s field guide to the new frontier of professional development—working with other women Women-to-women relationships in the workplace are . . . complicated. When they’re good, they’re great. But when they’re bad, they can ruin your day, your week—even your year. Packed with proven advice from two of today’s leading experts in workplace relationships, this one-of-a-kind guide gives women the tools they need to navigate difficult situations unique to women-to-women relationships—whether with a boss, a colleague, a client, or an employee. Have you dealt with a woman in the workplace who: “Accidentally” excludes you from important meetings? Seems intent on taking you down professionally? Gossips about you with other coworkers? Makes you look bad by missing deadlines? Forms a “pack” of mean girls to make your life miserable? Mean Girls at Work isn’t just about surviving difficult situations. It’s about transforming a toxic relationship into one that benefits and supports both of you. This book is also for women who engage in mean behavior . . . but don’t know it. After all, who hasn’t gossiped about a female coworker? Who hasn’t rolled her eyes in the presence of a woman she doesn’t like? Who hasn’t scanned another woman head to toe—which is just a nonverbal way of saying, “You’ve just been judged”? The authors provide invaluable advice to the more subtle ways of being mean—even if they’re not intended. With a workforce composed of a higher percentage of women than ever, workplace dynamics have changed. Crowley and Elster cover every conceivable scenario, providing critical advice on how to rise above the fray and move forward professionally. Mean Girls at Work is your map to dodging the mines and moving forward in today’s transformed workplace. Praise for Mean Girls at Work “An invaluable suit of armor for surviving nine to five!” —Leil Lowndes, bestselling author of How to Talk to Anyone “If you think the emotional cruelty of comedies like Mean Girls and Heathers doesn’t exist in the real world workplace, think again. In Mean Girls at Work, Katherine Crowley and Kathi Elster valuably chronicle female vs. female predators and offer solid defensive strategies.” —Ann Kreamer, author of It’s Always Personal: Navigating Emotion in the New Workplace “Whether you are in your twenties and just starting your professional career, your midcareer forties, when you are supposed to have figured it out already, or a woman in her fifties or sixties who’s seen it all—this book is a must-read. . . . The authors have finally given women the tools and the sound advice necessary to deal with . . . conflicts that keep us all from succeeding. . . . Carry this book with you to work every day!” —Carolyn Cassin, President, Michigan Women’s Foundation “A must-read for women of all ages in today’s workforce. This book offers what we all need to develop the capacities to endure this ever-changing workplace. We know it is all about relationships and you need the skills outlined in this book to survive and thrive when the Mean Girls attack.” —Kim Harrington, Coordinator, Professional Development and Training, Office of Human Resources, California State University, Sacramento
