Book Synopsis The End of Performance Appraisal by : Armin Trost
Download or read book The End of Performance Appraisal written by Armin Trost and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-05-02 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book demonstrates, in detail, why annual performance appraisals might still work in hierarchical environments, but largely fail in agile ones. The annual performance appraisal is one of the world’s most widely used management tools. For many years, it was indeed seen as a pre-requisite for successful leadership and professional management. While most managers and employees have always been sceptical in this respect, those at a strategic level are now also realising it causes more harm than good, and a growing number of leading companies have similarly abolished this approach. One key reason lies in the changing working world, and the quest for greater organisational agility. Companies are moving away from rigid structuring. The arguments are presented objectively but with practical relevance, coherently illustrating the available alternatives for achieving what annual performance appraisals largely have not.
Book Synopsis Integrated Product and Sales Management in B2B by : Claus Tintelnot
Download or read book Integrated Product and Sales Management in B2B written by Claus Tintelnot and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-12-27 with total page 318 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the advantages of a high level of integration between product and sales management. It explains how highly integrated product and sales management can be achieved. Claus Tintelnot depicts the classic organizational models and provides examples of how these can be supplemented, fundamentally adapted and supported by digitalization. Best and worst practice examples indicate where classic management fails and show how integrated management can do better. Managers can only act as role models for an integrated team if they share the same attitude to leadership and pursue a common strategy. Business goals that need to be achieved can only be shared by integrated product and sales management and one avoids employees being worn down by the hurdles caused by inter-departmental boundaries. The book is aimed at practitioners in the fields of corporate management, strategy, product management, sales and interested readers from other areas of the supply chain. Without an adequate supply chain and fitting communication to the customers, B2B businesses cannot be successful and profitable. Students of business administration, economics, industrial engineering, business engineering, computer science for IT/ OT and other engineering disciplines will have a worthwhile read as well.
Book Synopsis Global Constitutional Narratives of Autonomous Regions by : Jason Buhi
Download or read book Global Constitutional Narratives of Autonomous Regions written by Jason Buhi and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-03-30 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With international attention focused on Hong Kong, many forget that Macau also exists in a delicate "one country, two systems" (OCTS) balance with mainland China. This book provides insights into the circumstances surrounding the less-understood half of China’s OCTS policy, including the stagnation of representational government, and the location of any Macau characteristics in the Macau Basic Law. Despite being Hong Kong’s sister "Special Administrative Region" (SAR) within the People’s Republic of China, Macau’s unique constitutional development under Portuguese and Chinese administration remains under-appreciated despite its potential contributions to local, national, and international constitutional discourse. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, including doctrinal, historical, and comparative methodologies, this work fills that gap. The research blends Portuguese, Chinese, and foreign-language sources in order to reconstruct a balanced constitutional narrative. The book focuses on a consequential effect of globalization – that is, the assimilation of a long-standing and unique constitutional order by a new hegemonic sovereign – including processes for internationalization as China opened up, legal harmonization of two distinct legal and socioeconomic orders, juridification of local affairs with the establishment of a new local court system in preparation for handover to the Chinese regime, and democratization (or the lack thereof) among the various communities comprising the Macanese polity before and since. Focusing on Macau’s unique development at the crux of European and Chinese empires, and the role it plays as a mirror for Chinese intentions vis-a-vis Hong Kong today, the book will be of interest to those working in constitutional law, politics, and history.
