Download or read book You Came into My Life written by Kenny Bernard and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-12-12 with total page 149 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a different life, with different choices, I could have achieved fame and fortune, had a gold disc hanging from a wall or an Oscar on my mantelpiece. But I have never been one for regrets. You make your choices, you have your share of luck and you only remember the good times. And boy, were there some good times. I have been very fortunate in my life to play at some of the greatest stages in England and to meet some truly amazing stars. I have equally had just as much enjoyment playing intimate gigs and local venues. I sometimes hear these famous songs on the radio or see these great names being interviewed and wondered whether that could have been me. But had that happened, where would I be and who would I have become? I doubt very much I would be writing this book today. I have learnt from the bad times and loved having the good times. I wouldnt have changed a thing.

Book Synopsis Thoughts in Rhyme by : Frank N. Owings, Jr.
Download or read book Thoughts in Rhyme written by Frank N. Owings, Jr. and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2023-03-31 with total page 98 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book This book is a compilation of song lyrics Owings has written over the past fifty years. Without the music, the words and meaning stand on their own for the reader to judge as a work of art. The goal in presenting the lyrics as poetry is to evoke a response from the reader, good or bad, in agreement or disagreement, etc., without the music or melody line interfering. About the Author A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Frank N. Owings, Jr. is an independent scholar and song writer. As an academic, he has written articles and books for the Keats-Shelly Memorial Association, the Indianapolis Museum of Art (now Newfields), the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, Kansas State University, and Indiana University. As a songwriter, his music has been called poetic rock. The lyrics to some of these songs have been gathered here into this collection of verse. As a student of the arts, he has been influenced by the thoughts and works of John Keats, Benjamin Robert Haydon, Thomas Hart Benton, John Steuart Curry, and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Book Synopsis My Life Death Book by : James P. Esquibel
Download or read book My Life Death Book written by James P. Esquibel and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-07-30 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My name is James Patrick Esquibel. I am a 40 year old man who has resided in the United States my entire life. I have had the opportunity to live in various states such as Idaho, Florida, California, Texas and different areas of New Mexico where I have spent most of my life. As the saying goes There is no place like home and now I find myself currently living in Albuquerque, New Mexico. New Mexico has a spiritual connection within me because of it's geological beauty. The mountains, rivers, lakes, animals and weather has fed my inner peace. Since the early age of 18 I have loved to write and release my emotions in poetic lyrical form. This form of therapy helped me to relate to past childhood memories some of which included abuse, neglect, the loss of loved ones and times of happiness. I never expected to publish this material as a book. My real intentions were putting together my own band and learning how to play the drums. Instead of choosing a life style of sex, drugs and Rock-n-roll which is known to be a part of a musicians life. I had felt a career on the road would have been too much for a simple soul like me. After experiencing my first child's birth I then realized how precious life is so I decided to be a family man. There is more contentment and satisfaction in raising children and being a good husband. Unfortunately life is so short and we must do all we can to make something good happen for ourselves and the ones we love. Never give up on dreaming and know if you put your mind, heart and soul towards anything oneself can make the impossible happen. Peace! (longhair) JPE

Then, after stumbling upon a chest of letters, Hon discovers the truth of her father’s past and reconstructs her own family history. Consumed with her own grief, Hon had been blind to her father’s vulnerability and her family’s fragility. Unraveling secret after secret and thanks to conversations with loving family and friends, Hon grows closer to her father, who proves to be more complex than she ever gave him credit for. After living through one of the most tumultuous times in Korean history, her father’s life was once vibrant and ambitious, but spiraled during the postwar years. Now, after years of emotional isolation, Hon learns the whole truth, from her father’s affair and involvement in a religious sect, to the dynamic lives of her own siblings, to her family’s financial hardships. With this long-awaited follow-up to Please Look After Mom—flawlessly rendered by award-winning translator Anton Hur—Kyung-Sook Shin has crafted an ambitious, global, epic, and lasting novel.
