Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “They don’t teach you how to get rich at school, Sick of Hearing the Same Old Advice ? “ Word Hard , Control your expenses , Credit Card is a “No , NO “ Do not get into Debt !! Debunk all those assumptions that you will be Rich if you study hard and work hard . This Book is actually not one of those . Wealth Tips They Do Not Teach at School is all about the importance of money. The premise of the book clearly distinguishes the difference between the thinking of the rich and the poor. In essence, the only limitation between you and the rich is in your own mind, and achieving success lies in breaking these walls. At schools, you would have been stuck at algebra, Pythagorean Theorem, and organic chemistry but you never study financial planning, making money, or saving money. The book provides real-life examples to reprogram your thinking to that of the rich and wealthy. You can't just graduate and leave formal education and expect yourself to be financially well equipped. Many people thought that having a good education is sufficient to hop on the train to acquire new wealth , well they can't be any more wrong ! As a kid, I have been told that getting good grades and a good job is the ladder to financial freedom. It's a sham. Everything boils down to your financial decisions and this book provides a great foundation to teach you those. This book is comprehensive, crisp, and easy to read. And by "easy" I mean this book provides sound information on the importance of money. It clearly distinguishes the difference between the thinking of the rich and the poor. The biggest revelation for me was that the author is right! They never taught me how to be rich at school. It is having the mindset of the wealthy that will make you rich You’ll discover why some of your money beliefs might be wrong and that could be holding you back , you need to consider what are the principles and what behaviors the rich have , that you do not have ,Yet ! Laura Maya takes this idea and updated it to Sixteen chapters. You wouldn’t find a recipe to turn rich overnight. Rather, the book provides a solid foundation for setting the psychological stage for strong financial habits. The premise of this book is straightforward – Rich people are programmed to think differently. Essentially, rich people and poor people think differently. This book walks you through these beneficial points clearly differentiating how rich and poor people think. Studying hard, getting nice grades, and getting a job is not enough to be rich. That’s one lie which we have been fed with since our childhood. There is a difference between scholastic, professional and financial education. The book further analyzes the root cause of why you are not rich. It all boils down to your education. You were never taught about how to be rich at school. Forget that, you never even learned personal finance or how to handle money. It further touches upon how you can get smart with personal finance. Perhaps the biggest argument Laura makes is the fact that everything can change if you change your mindset. Buying that expensive dress, impulsive buying, etc. are all signs of a poor mentality. If you make changes to your lifestyle and spending habits today, you will reap the benefits tomorrow. On making money, Laura’s approach is simple – she emphasizes on investing, spend less, and plan for a long-term.

Book excerpt: Why do high schools and colleges require students to take courses in English, math and science, yet have absolutely no requirements for students to learn about personal money management? Why Didn't They Teach Me This in School? 99 Personal Money Management Lessons to Live By was initially developed by the author to pass on to his five children as they entered adulthood. As it developed, the author realized that personal money management skills were rarely taught in high schools, colleges and even in MBA programs. Unfortunately, books on the subject tend to be complicated, lengthy reads. The book includes eight important lessons focusing on 99 principles that will quickly and memorably enhance any individual's money management acumen. Unlike many of the personal money management books out there, this book is a quick, easily digested read that focuses more on the qualitative side than the quantitative side of personal money management. The principles are not from a text book. Rather, they are practical principles learned by the author as he navigated through his financial life. Many are unorthodox in order to be memorable and provoke deeper thought by the reader.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I am not a financial adviser. I'm a single father of two with passive income solution. As any parent knows, having kids will teach you lessons in finances that no economics course ever could (although I do have a business degree). When my wife and I divorced in 2018, it was like a bomb went off. I had no more help with childcare, no more partner to stay up at night with a sick baby. I knew I had to get my finances in better shape in order to provide for myself and my family. I knew I wanted to provide for my children and their future, needing such things as college fund, a home where they had more space, and their own rooms. I interacted with the individuals whose finances trumped mine. I began to see patterns on how to make money and what makes someone successful and applied them to my own life. The idea of ways to make money, leveraging my income, and making my money work for me instead me working for it triggered, and it became my goal to build passive income. Especially now, I realize how expensive it is to raise children, be single, and pay for day care. Even though as of writing this book we share the kids fifty-fifty, I still have to take them to day care so I can work. Not all the passive income ideas and tips mentioned in this book will work for you. Personally, I've implemented a few of the tips written. Each tip is different for each individual, and you have to do what you feel is best for you. What works for me may not necessarily work for you, and vice versa. I hope something in this book will ignite that fire in you to run with it in your life. Whether it's to build wealth, add to your retirement, or just put a few more bucks in your pocket, I am sure there's something in here for you. And, oh yes, I would like to thank our Lord and Savior because without Him, none of this would be possible.

Book excerpt: The valuable lesson contained in this book is that the best way to attract prosperity is to abandon the pursuit of wealth and allow it to flow toward oneself. The ancient laws of attraction are explained in plain language and applied in an economic framework—a new perspective not found in other popular explications of these principles. A path to prosperity is offered in tandem with guidance for achieving harmony in both professional and personal spheres while strategies to overcome destructive thinking patterns and to sustain the flow of wealth while channeling it constructively are delineated. Profiles of individuals who pursued their passion rather than profit, and subsequently reaped immense rewards, will inspire those seeking to transform their lives.

Book excerpt: This book reviews the state of education in Myanmar over the past decade and a half as the country is undergoing profound albeit incomplete transformation. Set within the context of Myanmar’s peace process and the wider reforms since 2012, Marie Lall’s analysis of education policy and practice serves as a case study on how the reform programme has evolved. Drawing on over 15 years of field research carried out across Myanmar, the book offers a cohesive inquiry into government and non-government education sectors, the reform process, and how the transition has played out across schools, universities and wider society. It casts scrutiny on changes in basic education, the alternative monastic education, higher education and teacher education, and engages with issues of ethnic education and the debate on the role of language and the local curriculum as part of the peace process. In so doing, it gives voice to those most affected by the changing landscape of Myanmar’s education and wider reform process: the students and parents of all ethnic backgrounds, teachers, teacher trainees and university staff that are rarely heard.

This book was released on 2023-01-01 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Black Student’s Pathway to Graduate Study and Beyond: The Making of a Scholar is an informative and ambitious book designed to help Black prospective and current graduate students pursue graduate degrees successfully. The book covers broad topics ranging from admissions policies, standardized tests, networking, mentorship, financial options, qualifying and comprehensive exams, proposal and dissertation writing, publishing, gender and race, socialization, and campus culture. This volume is organized into five graduate pathways: Pathway I: Embarking on the Graduate Admissions Process; Pathway II: Confronting Race and Gender Disparities in Graduate Education; Pathway III: Persevering to the Graduate Degree; Pathway IV: Adjusting to the Socialization of Graduate Education; and Pathway V: Preparing for Success Beyond Graduate Education. The book calls Black students’ attention to some of the barriers they may encounter along the pathway to a graduate degree. The pathway to success can be linear or nonlinear since students travel different journeys and are at different vectors on the continuum. The primary audience for this book consists of Black prospective and current graduate students, graduate deans, admissions counselors, recruiters, and faculty advisors in both black and white higher education institutions. The secondary audience includes high school students, guidance counselors, and social and religious organizations. Furthermore, this book can serve as a handy resource for undergraduates who are interested in pursuing a graduate degree. ENDORSEMENTS: "This book will be helpful not only for students seeking a meaningful experience in graduate and professional school, but perhaps more importantly, institutions that desire to create productive pathways for Black students to the advanced-degree workplace. The chapters unpack important lived experiences that should be carefully considered." — Jerlando F. L. Jackson, University of Wisconsin-Madison "The Black Student’s Pathway to Graduate Study and Beyond: The Making of a Scholar makes key contributions to the extant literature. By underscoring Black graduate students’ engagements with Academe, the scholars provide nuanced perspective through an array of contextual lenses (e. g. admissions; race and gender; socialization; transition) that are endemic to higher education in general, and the Historically Black College and University (HBCU) setting in particular. Critical Race Theory is the theoretical framework that provides scaffolding upon which the volume’s scholars theorize best practices, strategies, and solutions that are authentic representations of their experiences. The pathway is an appropriate metaphor for this book—the scholars have provided illumination; it is incumbent upon us to initiate the journey." — Fred A. Bonner II, Prairie View A&M University
