Book Synopsis I Survived and Thrived by : Joseph Sorge
Download or read book I Survived and Thrived written by Joseph Sorge and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2009 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I want to share my experiences with you. I am eighty four years old, and I am not senile. Everything I wrote in this book is the truth. I am concerned about the way this country is heading. I have lived to see many administrations operate since nineteen thirty two. These politicians in DC ARE arrogant and power crazy. They want to dictate to us how we work, live and carry on. Many of them are guilty of tax evasion. They walk around as if they are immune to any penalty they should be given. WE tell them that majority of people are against their version of the health plan. They will use any trick to get their plan into the law. They forget that they are employed by the taxpayer. They want to run your life as they see fit. I and millions of veterans fought for our freedom, because we love this country We do not want these socialist thugs to ruin this. If you agree with me vote these politicians out of office, if they do not perform the American way. When you read this book you will thank me for enlightening everyone. Today you hear quite a bit about discrimination. In my early days there was always people being discriminated. To start with there were no laws to protect them. They took in stride, because they were too busy trying to survive the great depression. Today the so called depressed are always whining. They are lazy, do not want to work or get an education. All they want is handouts from the government. The only people should get money are the sick, handicap, elderly. Politicians cater to the lazy ones to get their votes. They are scheming to get illegals citizenship, to get more votes. They do not care about the future of this country. I do I want the younger generation to enjoy this great country, as I did. Especially my sons and grandchildren.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Youth Gone Wild is a story about a young boy born in 1962 on the Northwest Side of Chicago to parents ill prepared to raise a son. His premature birth prevented him from bonding with his mother at an early age. His older sister paved the way for how Robert would be raised as her “little sister.” Many years of pain and suffering at the hands of his bullies ensued. It wasn’t until his discovery of heavy metal rock music that Robert found a way out of his chains. Rock music became his religion. It gave him the strength, the courage, and the self-confidence to take back control of his life and to control his own destiny. As the years passed, the transition from a good little boy to an out-of-control teenager was set in motion. This is not your typical coming-of-age story. Robert truly was a youth gone wild! All boundaries were shattered. Nothing was off-limits. Along with his cast of characters, he would blaze a path of “creative” mayhem second to none.

Book Synopsis Finding Mrs. Warnecke by : Cindi Rigsbee
Download or read book Finding Mrs. Warnecke written by Cindi Rigsbee and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-03-15 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Finding Mrs. Warnecke tells the inspiring story of Cindi Rigsbee, a three-time Teacher of the Year, and Barbara Warnecke, the first-grade teacher who had a profound and lasting impact on Cindi's life. Cindi, an insecure child who craved positive attention, started her first-grade year with a teacher who was emotionally abusive and played favorites in the classroom. Two months into the school year, her principal came into the classroom and announced that half the students were being moved to another classroom--a dank, windowless basement room, with a young and inexperienced teacher. This change turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to Cindi. Her new teacher, Mrs. Warnecke, made learning come alive for her students. She went overboard caring for each child, made her classroom "magical," and encouraged students to pursue their dreams. Although Cindi was reluctant to explore her creativity as a student, Mrs. Warnecke encouraged her to read and write poetry, which became a lifelong passion. The two kept in touch for several years but lost track of each other when Mrs. Warnecke moved out of state. Cindi spent many years trying to reconnect so she could thank Mrs. Warnecke for making such a difference in her life, but to no avail. Eventually Cindi became a teacher herself, and thirty years later she has taught more than 2,000 children and been named Teacher of the Year for her home state. She later came to realize that all those years she wasn't really trying to track down Barbara Warnecke, but rather, she was trying to "find Mrs. Warnecke" within herself. In Fall 2008 Cindi and Barbara were reunited on Good Morning America; the show's producers had tracked Barbara down and brought both women on-set for a tearful reunion. Barbara was floored at this attention--she had no idea she could have made such an impact on a former student's life. As Cindi travels around talking with new and veteran educators, she is always approached by audience members who are moved to tears and want to share the story of the "Mrs. Warnecke" in their own lives. Finding Mrs. Warnecke not only tells the story of this teacher who made a lifelong impact on her students, it illustrates the importance of the teacher/student relationship in the classroom, and offers principles for other teachers to follow to make a positive impact in their own classrooms.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This did not start out to be a memoir; rather a compilation of professional and opinion-writing to one day be read by our children and grandchildren. Early in the process it became clear that some chronology was needed to give background and context. Thus a memoir, plus. Still intended for the extended family, it is full of stories and perspectives from two different cultures and geographies, different decades and histories. This will also be of interest to a general audience who may not read the whole book but will enjoy reading “in” the book. Polinder writes with voice—to know him will be to hear him telling his stories. Honest, insightful, warm and funny—you will learn much about leadership, relationship and partnership, most often with a smile.

Later in my college years to be inspired by others who read some of my work. Also being inspired by the great Langston Hughes reading his poetry gave me the inspiration to write more with thoughts about life and endless images Throughout my vision of writing ideas exploded into words and then formed into a poem or story. Writing was always my way of expressing my feelings and thoughts. Furthermore I experienced similar episodes of my own which gave me fruit for thought in my own travels
