In the book you see over 100 big sized images. It´s made just for viewing or can be used to view which images are available as printed wall art of the "Fine Art of Bondage" project. Fine Art of Bondage is one of the most successful rope bondage and fetish art projects worldwide. Artwork is available as wall art on canvas, alu/metal, acryl, posters, yearly wall calendars and printed photo art books. The rigger and photographer Rod Meier (Ulm/Germany) uses a mix of the western and japanese bondage (shibari/kinbaku). The only thing he wants to achieve is to produce great wall art to hang up at your walls. These pictures in the book are not made to fill some empty space at your wall. They are made as an eyecatching piece for every visitor entering a room decorated with these pictures. Book excerpt: Irving Klaw was the legendary New York-based mail order merchant who, between around 1949 and his eventual prosecution for obscenity in 1966, produced thousands of films, photographic sets and printed booklets based on themes of fetishism, bondage, and sado-masochism. Although best-known for his discovery and promotion of the iconic bondage model Betty Page, Klaw's greatest legacy undoubtedly lies in his pioneering publishing work in the field of bondage illustration. Klaw's earliest bondage art series -- which he published as photographs in sets of episodes -- were mostly themed around images of girls fighting. But Klaw's activities soon attracted other artists, such as Eric Stanton and Gene Bilbrew ("Eneg"), who offered work more firmly based on bondage, restraint, and cruelty. The popularity of this type of art was quickly established, and Klaw went on to produce dozens of sets by a whole range of like-minded artists throughout the 1950s. PSYCHO GIRLS IN BONDAGE is a new anthology which collects some of the most outstanding examples of bondage art and fiction originally published by Klaw. The featured artists are Stanton, Eneg, Jim, Ruiz, and Dixon, all stalwarts of Klaw's bondage-art catalogue. The book includes over 200 images. Klaw Klassix is a new illustrated book series of classic "non-nude" erotic art and fiction, dedicated to preserving and presenting the very best works originally published by Irving Klaw.

Book excerpt: Tracey Emin has undergone an extraordinary metamorphosis from a young, unknown artist into the 'bad girl' of the Young British Art (yBA) movement, challenging the complacency of the art establishment in both her work and her life. Today she is arguably the doyenne of the British art scene and attracts more acclaim than controversy. Her work is known by a wide audience, yet rarely receives the critical attention it deserves. In Art Into Life: Essays on Tracey Emin writers from a range of art historical, artistic and curatorial perspectives examine how Emin's art, life and celebrity status have become inextricably intertwined. This innovative collection explores Emin's intersectional identity, including her Turkish-Cypriot heritage, ageing and sexuality, reflects on her early years as an artist, and debates issues of autobiography, self-presentation and performativity alongside the multi-media exchanges of her work and the tensions between art and craft. With its discussions of the central themes of Emin's art, attention to key works such as My Bed, and accessible theorization of her creative practice, Art into Life will interest a broad readership.

Book excerpt: How hip-hop culture and graffiti electrified the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat and his contemporaries in 1980s New York In the early 1980s, art and writing labeled as graffiti began to transition from New York City walls and subway trains onto canvas and into art galleries. Young artists who freely sampled from their urban experiences and their largely Black, Latinx and immigrant histories infused the downtown art scene with expressionist, pop and graffiti-inspired compositions. Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960-88) became the galvanizing, iconic frontrunner of this transformational and insurgent movement in contemporary American art, which resulted in an unprecedented fusion of creative energies that defied longstanding racial divisions. Writing the Future features Basquiat's works in painting, sculpture, drawing, video, music and fashion, alongside works by his contemporaries--and sometimes collaborators--A-One, ERO, Fab 5 Freddy, Futura, Keith Haring, Kool Koor, LA2, Lady Pink, Lee Quiñones, Rammellzee and Toxic. Throughout the 1980s, these artists fueled new directions in fine art, design and music, reshaping the predominantly white art world and driving the now-global popularity of hip-hop culture. Writing the Future, published to accompany a major exhibition, contextualizes Basquiat's work in relation to his peers associated with hip-hop culture. It also marks the first time Basquiat's extensive, robust and reflective portraiture of his Black and Latinx friends and fellow artists has been given prominence in scholarship on his oeuvre. With contributions from Carlo McCormick, Liz Munsell, Hua Hsu, J. Faith Almiron and Greg Tate, Writing the Future captures the energy, inventiveness and resistance unleashed when hip-hop hit the city.
