Book excerpt: When a vicious serial-killer comes looking for John 'Wolf' Trotter and his biker brothers, she has more than torture and death in mind. This time, she's backed up by a well-trained paramilitary band of disciples fueled by their own hatred. Wolf, a writer named for his passion for riding the back roads as a lone-wolf biker, has a troubled past. It started when he and his friends brought a killer for hire's career to a sudden end. Blondie, the dead assassin's unique and illusive partner, has devised a plan that will destroy the fragile trust among motorcycle clubs, the police, and the public that has taken decades to build. When Wolf and his buddies try to lure this devious chameleon out, bodies begin to pile up in apparently unrelated incidents. While the authorities spin their wheels, Wolf and his brothers devise their own risky plan. Will it derail the growing national threat before it sparks a bloody conflict that could be impossible to stop and almost certain to get them killed? Delivering more than just suspense and excitement, Lone Wolf's Run is an innovative hybrid thriller that skillfully incorporates safety advice and actual unique destinations into the plot-map included. "Lone Wolf's Run put me on my motorcycle ... Strange is the experience that teaches one to value riding safety while witnessing unexpected mayhem in the riding community." -Larry Lindsey, legislative director, Alabama ABATE, MSF rider/coach

Book excerpt: Raised in the wild by intelligent, language-using wolves, in her teens Firekeeper was abducted back into the lands of men, where her upbringing as a wolf helped her survive the deadly intrigues of human beings. One of the first things she learned in Hawk Haven was that magic was a thing to be feared and despised. Long ago, all the human kingdoms were ruled by powerful sorcerers. Then a plague came and the sorcerers died. Nobody misses them. Much was lost—but still, nobody misses them. Yet as Firekeeper has travelled and grown wiser in the ways of human beings, she's learned that the true story was more complex. In coming to the country of the Liglim, she, Derian Carter, and Blind Seer discovered that magic is still working in the world, and that it isn't always the evil they'd been warned against. But it also turned out that the old plague specifically targeted magic users. And when Firekeeper and her friends learned to open the gates between worlds, the plague came back with them. Firekeeper, Blind Seer, and Derian Carter survived the plague: not unchanged, but still themselves. Now Firekeeper is determined to learn the nature of the plague--and if she can, to end it forever. What happens next will be the culmination of the remarkable fantasy epic that began with Through Wolf's Eyes. Book excerpt: In a time forgotten and a land removed, the history of Northern Empire Records the on-going struggle between good and evil. In this far off land, the events of daily life have faded into the past without an understanding of the true character of the people. To often we view history just in terms of dates, facts, and names. The history of the Northen Empire is a blend of noble people and corrupt forces, plus the challenge of good to triumph in the face of evil. In the history of the Empire one such noble individual is Coaldon of Rocknee. Coaldon of Rocknee grew up in the wilderness of the Outlast under the loving guidance and care of his grandparents. His carefree youth was the training ground to prepare him to assume his adult responsibilities to the people of the Empire. Unknown to the outside world, Coaldon’s modest youth was the doorway to bring victory into the hands of goodness.

Book excerpt: Discover the transformative lessons from one of humanity’s oldest teachers—the wolf—with this enthralling, accessible, and “beautiful book” (Helen Hunt, Academy Award–winning actress) that “is rich with meaning, emotion, and spirit. A must read” (Douglas W. Smith, PhD, leader of the Wolf Restoration Project at Yellowstone National Park) to help us restore our connection with nature, our communities, and our deepest selves. Myths from cultures around the world show that wolves have enthralled humankind for millennia. In The Wolf Connection, Teo Alfero, shamanic practitioner and wolf conservancy founder, shows how interacting with wolves and wolfdogs can benefit people from all walks of life. By restoring our ancestral bond with these resourceful beings, we can reclaim the best of what it means to be human. The Wolf Connection offers twelve Wolf Principles to awaken our intuition, live more authentically, and heal from trauma. The principles draw on knowledge that Teo and the Wolf Connection sanctuary team have gleaned firsthand through their Wolf Therapy® education and empowerment program, as well as the findings of wolf biologists and the wisdom of First Nation elders. Stories from myriad sources including Wolf Heart Ranch provide a compelling understanding of the lessons wolves have to offer us.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Khoa and his grandfather, Tristian are thought to be the last two descendants of an ancient pack of white wolves who followed ‘the way of the wolf.’ As the novel opens, Tristian lies dying, having been torn apart by the pack, for teaching Khoa ‘the way,’ which is now forbidden. The old wolf sends Khoa on a quest to find a watcher wolf, a book, and a society of white wolves; none of which may exist. As Khoa escapes through a mole tunnel that his grandfather had prepared for him, the pack waits outside the hut to ‘set upon him’. In this Revisionist pack wolves kill wolves. Khoa is a reluctant hero, but through his adventures he takes on more belief in the traditions his grandfather had opened him up to. Khoa goes over a waterfall, runs into vipers, and has other troubles, but finally makes it to the river where Tristian told him he would find the Watcher Wolf. It is here that his new family finds him. His adopted zoo is made up of Washer, the raccoon, Pieces, the old chewed rabbit, and Serious, the young, officious rabbit, to name a few who add a lighter side to Khoas quest. Khoa has a love interest in the story in the form of Ani, an artic white wolf. They grew up in the Revisionist Society together, but never knew they had feelings for each other. Ani sees Khoa escape, and hopes to have Staver, Dueces' son, rescue her instead of hounding Khoa's trail to give him a head start. She places her paw in the mouth of the red iron dog, a man trap, and puts a twig in it to prevent her from really getting hurt, but the steel trap snaps the twig and she is caught in it for real. Scout, her father, and the pack are on the trail of Khoa, but get her scent and follow it until they realize Khoa isn't with her. Through a twist in the tale, Scout talks his daughter into leaving the pack and setting out to look for Khoa, which she does with the help of Retread, who happens to be one of the alpha pack leader, Dueces’ son. They have turned against the pack. The Watcher Wolf finally meets up with Khoa and teaches him to ‘humble himself’ before he can read ‘the way of the wolf.’ The watcher and the other animals tell him the true story of the Last Revolt, how Duece came to be in possession of the oryx, and how it was that the black wolves killed Khoa’s mother and father. Duece believes the oryx is the magic that has protected the white wolves and seeks after it as well as Khoa. The young cub has learned through the Watcher that there are other white wolves and a twin cub, his brother, Tor, who did survive the Last Revolt. He meets up with his twin as Duece and the black wolves close in on him; gathering their great armies of the East, South, and West against the white wolves. Both armies come face to face on the mountain of fire and ice where the spirit of the Venger wolf is unleashed. Through the use of the oryx and the ways of the wolf, the two brothers triumph over the Venger spirit of the dark wolves and make it to the realm of the Wilds and their ancestral home.
