Here, God gives us an image that transcends the incarnation - an image of Jesus that we can really focus on. In C.S. Lewis' 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', Lucy asks whether Aslan is safe - "course he isn't safe. But he's good...". That exchange gives us some of the flavour of this vision of Jesus.
