Book Synopsis Value Based Performance Measures by : Nils Eikelmann
Download or read book Value Based Performance Measures written by Nils Eikelmann and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-08-19 with total page 309 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nils Eikelmann describes the framework conditions for the application of value-based performance measures and critically analyses selected ones. The disclosure of value-based performance indicators is important in order to demonstrate the successful management of a company and to satisfy the increasing information needs of investors. However, companies adapt the developed theoretical concepts of value-based performance measures to their practical needs and thus investors are no longer able to compare the performance of companies. In addition, there is a variety of different metrics from which companies can choose. The empirical study aims to reduce existing research gaps and is divided into three parts: the analysis of annual reports of selected European companies, the calculation of a standardised value-based performance measure and a value relevance study in the form of an association study.
Book Synopsis Handbook of Self-Regulation of Learning and Performance by : Dale H. Schunk
Download or read book Handbook of Self-Regulation of Learning and Performance written by Dale H. Schunk and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2011-05-15 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Self-regulated learning (or self-regulation) refers to the process whereby learners personally activate and sustain cognitions, affects, and behaviours that are systematically oriented toward the attainment of learning goals. This is the first volume to integrate into a single volume all aspects of the field of self-regulation of learning and performance: basic domains, applications to content areas, instructional issues, methodological issues, and individual differences. It draws on research from such diverse areas as cognitive, educational, clinical, social, and organizational psychology. Distinguishing features include: Chapter Structure – To ensure uniformity and coherence across chapters, each chapter author addresses the theoretical ideas underlying their topic, research evidence bearing on these ideas, future research directions, and implications for educational practice. International – Because research on self-regulation is increasingly global, a significant number of interntional contributors are included (see table of contents). Readable – In order to make the book accessible to students, chapters have been carefully edited for clarity, conciseness, and organizational consistency. Expertise – All chapters are written by leading researchers from around the world who are highly regarded experts on their particular topics and are active contributors to the field.
Book Synopsis Cross-Categorical Special Education Needs in Finland and Germany by : Birgit Herz
Download or read book Cross-Categorical Special Education Needs in Finland and Germany written by Birgit Herz and published by Waxmann Verlag. This book was released on 2007 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Teacher Education ranks on the top on the agenda in Germany as well as in Finland. In order to comply with the "right for inclusion" as stated by the EU's and UN's convention for the right of children this study focuses on the question: "How to promote inclusive education?" Finland and Germany have different policies towards inclusion. Within the German system of general education, heterogeneity is very often perceived not as a chance but as a disturbance. The Finnish teachers have learned to live with the heterogeneity in their classrooms and the dropout rate is lower than in Germany. It is evident that bilateral research cooperation can help finding better ways for the inclusion of all pupils. Particularly in the field of Learning Disabilities, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties, but also as far as problems in reading and writing are concerned, this research study opens new perspectives on a multi-track support for all pupils.

Book Synopsis The Market Approach to Comparable Company Valuation by : Matthias Meitner
Download or read book The Market Approach to Comparable Company Valuation written by Matthias Meitner and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-08-18 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Corporate valuation using multiples is one of the most popular corporate valuation approaches. In this book, the different steps of this valuation approach such as the selection of comparable companies or the choice of the reference variables are discussed. Then, the circumstances required for a sound valuation (e.g., the degree of efficiency of the equity market) are described. Additionally, the book gives insight on how the state of the industry and/or the company has an impact on the proper choice of the reference variables. Finally, it is shown how multi-factor models can enrich the universe of valuation models. While always maintaining the academic rigor, the author addresses practice-relevant topics and delivers hands-on solutions for typical valuation problems.
Book Synopsis Amino Acid Composition and Biological Value of Cereal Proteins by : Radomir Lásztity
Download or read book Amino Acid Composition and Biological Value of Cereal Proteins written by Radomir Lásztity and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 653 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Cereals belong to the most important elements in the history of mankind. From the beginning of agriculture, cereals have been by far the most important staple food in the world. Although the cereal consumption decreased to a low level in the developed countries in Europe and North America, in the devel oping countries over two-thirds of the calorie and protein intake is based on cereals. A substantial quantity of cereals goes indirectly into food via feed to animals. Generally, cereal proteins are classified as proteins of lower biological value because of shortage in lysine and some other essential amino acids. Recent developments in the de termination and evaluation of the biological value of proteins and protein mixtures suggest that the oversimplified earlier evaluation of cereal proteins must be reviewed. This book contains the edited proceedings of the Inter national Symposium on "Amino Acid Composition and Biological Value of Cereal Proteins", held in Budapest, Hungary, Hay 31- June 1, 1983, under the sponsorship of the International Association for Cereal Chemistry, Hungarian Scientific Society for Food Industry and Grain Trust, Hungary, with supplemental invited contributions. Scientists (biologist, plant breeders, farmers, chemists, biochemists, engineers, food technologists and nutritionists) from 17 countries presented and reviewed, along with partici pants from 20 countries, the recent methodology and trends in the determination of the biological value of cereal proteins, v the amino acid composition of cereal proteins and factors in fluencing the composition and the role of cereal proteins in nutrition and animal feeding.
