The National Park Service (NPS) began monitoring water quality and invertebrate community structure in Pratt Creek and a tributary (Winton Spring Branch) at Pea Ridge National Military Park (PERI) in 2009 (Bowles et al. 2008). An additional tributary of Pratt Creek (Lee Creek) was not included in the monitoring plan initially because it was thought to have intermittent flows during most of the year.
