Man denke nur an die zahlreichen Studien, wie zum Beispiel PISA und TIMSS, bei denen eben diese Begriffe eine wichtige Rolle spielten. Aber was steht hinter dem Begriff der Unterrichtsqualität? Was ist guter Unterricht? Diese Fragen soll sich die Arbeit zu Beginn stellen. Dabei geht sie erst einmal von dem allgemeinen Verständnis von Qualität aus, welches sie im Weitern auf den Unterricht bezieht. Es folgt eine Betrachtung der, von Hilbert Meyer ausgearbeiteten, zehn Merkmale von gutem Unterricht, wobei diese kurz erläutert werden und auf ihren Zusammenhang und die Bedeutung eingegangen wird. Neben den Schülern ist der Lehrer die wichtigste Person im Unterricht. Er ist maßgeblich an gutem Unterricht beteiligt. Die Herausarbeitung seiner genaue Rolle, die er für die Unterrichtsqualität spielt, soll den Abschluss des ersten Teils der Hausarbeit bilden, bevor sich dann im zweiten Teil, die daraus resultierenden Anforderungen an den Lehrer darlegen. Welche Kompetenzen sind nötig, um eine gute Unterrichtsqualität zu bieten? Was muss ein guter Lehrer tun und was sollte er lieber lassen? Hierbei wird vor allem der Ansatz aus Andreas Helmkes Buch ́Unterrichtsqualität. Erfassen, Bewerten, Verbessern ́ herausgearbeitet, aber auch Meinungen anderer Autoren werden berücksichtigt. Damit ein Lehrer den Anforderungen entsprechen kann, bedarf es natürlich einer bestimmten Ausbildung. Dieser Punkt wird im dritten und letzten Teil der Hausarbeit genauer untersucht. Wie sieht die derzeitige Situation der Lehrerausbildung aus? Und was muss sich in Zukunft bei ihr verändern, damit sie gute Lehrer hervorbringt, welche die Kinder und Jugendlichen im deutschen Bildungswesen, den Forderungen entsprechend, kommunikationsfähiger, selbstständiger und teamfähiger machen und sie mit mehr Eigeninitiative, Problemlösevermögen und Methodenbeherrschung ausstatten? Die Arbeit versucht, das Thema Unterrichtsqualität und ihre Anforderungen an den Lehrer etwas näher zu beleuchten, da es aber ein sehr weitgefasstes Feld ist, kann sie sicher nicht auf alle Aspekte dazu eingehen.

Auch der Stern gab dem Lehrerberuf den Titel als „Höllenjob auf Lebenszeit“. Doch was macht den Lehrerberuf eigentlich so „unmöglich“? Ist tatsächlich der Beruf an sich nicht realisierbar oder sind es eher die gestellten Anforderungen an Lehrerinnen und Lehrer, die den Beruf unmöglich machen? Genau diesen Fragen soll in dieser Arbeit nachgegangen werden. Hierfür folgt zunächst ein Überblick über die Anforderungen an Lehrerinnen und Lehrer im Wandel der Zeit. Im nächsten Schritt werden die aktuellen Anforderungen an Lehrpersonen erläutert. Eingegangen wird dabei auf Ansprüche von Schülerinnen und Schülern, der Unterrichtsforschung und der Politik. Außerdem beschäftigt sich die Arbeit mit Belastungen und Beanspruchungen, denen Lehrerinnen und Lehrer ausgesetzt sind. Auch Möglichkeiten der Bewältigung von alltäglichen Belastungen werden thematisiert. Nachdem dann das Verhältnis zwischen dem Sollen, dem Wollen und dem Können von Lehrerinnen und Lehrern erörtert wird, kommt es dann im letzten Schritt zu einem abschließenden Fazit dieser Arbeit.

Im letzten Schritt wird auf die Belastungen, die im Lehrerberuf entstehen, und mögliche Bewältigungsstrategien eingegangen, so dass die Arbeit mit einem abschließenden Fazit endet.
