This book was released on 2014-04-02 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Firms are increasingly collaborating with outside partners to access external knowledge that will enable them to successfully innovate and remain competitive in the marketplace. To apply external knowledge, they must have a distinctive capacity to absorb knowledge. One of the main influencing factors for absorptive capacity is a knowledge-friendly organizational culture, because the knowledge absorbing behavior of individuals can be better coordinated through implicit values and norms than through structural coordination instruments. When focusing on an organization’s overall behavior, it is important to investigate in detail how a knowledge-friendly organizational culture influences absorptive capacity. Therefore, the author analysis the relationship between organizational culture and absorptive capacity and shows how a knowledge-friendly organizational culture should be designed to support the absorption of external knowledge in SMEs.

Book Synopsis Assessment, Evaluation, Improvement: Success through Corporate Culture by : Sonja Sackmann
Download or read book Assessment, Evaluation, Improvement: Success through Corporate Culture written by Sonja Sackmann and published by Verlag Bertelsmann Stiftung. This book was released on 2010-07-30 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report by Prof. Dr. Sonja Sackmann, University Bw, Munich, provides an overview of state-of-the-art knowledge with regard to the link between corporate culture and performance as well as approaches that have been used to assess and measure culture in organizations. It discusses different understandings of culture and how they lead to different ways of assessing it. Current methods of culture assessment are compared. The comparison is arranged according to the respective focus on the cultural layer of analyses (e.g., norms, values, beliefs, and assumptions), the origin of dimensions and the purpose of assessment. Most of these approaches are single-method instruments. Along with multiplemethod approaches, they are described and discussed individually, followed by a short assessment of their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, the report provides a more general evaluation of issues related to the assessment of culture and its link to performance, as well as the most promising approaches. These considerations lead to recommendations for the assessment of corporate culture with links to performance.

Book Synopsis Die Bedeutung von Corporate Culture für den Unternehmenserfolg by : Jürgen Stratmann
Download or read book Die Bedeutung von Corporate Culture für den Unternehmenserfolg written by Jürgen Stratmann and published by diplom.de. This book was released on 1997-07-14 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The Digital Transformation of Georgia by : Martin Kupiek
Download or read book The Digital Transformation of Georgia written by Martin Kupiek and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-04-28 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This edited volume discusses the path towards the digital transformation of Georgia from two major viewpoints: First, an economic perspective that includes contributions around economic integration and orientation towards the EU, and an analysis of its implications for a small country like Georgia. Second, various aspects of digital transformation initiatives will be studied from an enterprise and a managerial perspective. In this part, innovative management methodologies are conceptualized such as agile change management and the enterprise transformation cycle to facilitate the shift from the manufacturing and agriculture industry towards an increasing digitalization of companies. These concepts serve as fundamental cornerstones to enable the development of a digital transformation roadmap including the analysis of the potential of establishing a digital hub in Georgia and the Caucasus area. Based on a survey of national and international managers, important HR key performance indicators referring to mobility and digitalization of the workplace are discussed. The impact of pandemic (post-Covid) scenarios for future organizational development as well as large-scale labor migration from East to West is also in focus. The authors present implications for policymakers and business owners as well as top-level executives resulting in a set of recommendations for future actions.
