As his daughter, Sofia Broström, mentions in the Foreword, towards the end of his life, Hörmander "carefully went through his unpublished manuscripts, checking and revising each of them with his very critical eye, deciding what should be kept for posterity and what should be thrown out". He also compiled the complete bibliography of all his published mathematical works that is included at the end of the present book. Of both historical and mathematical value, the contents of this book will undoubtedly inspire mathematicians of different horizons.

Andrews with whose introduction this collection of unpublished manuscripts opens. A major portion of the Lost Notebook - really just 90 unpaginated sheets of work on q-series and other topics - is reproduced here in facsimile. Letters from Ramanujan to Hardy as well as various other sheets of seemingly related notes are then included, on topics including coefficients in the 1/q3 and 1/q2 problems and the mock theta functions. The next 180 pages consist of unpublished manuscripts of Ramanujan, including 28 pages from the 'Loose Papers` held in the Trinity College Library. Finally a number of interesting letters that were exchanged between Ramanujan, Littlewood, Hardy and Watson, with a bearing on Ramanujan's work are collected together here with other extracts and fragments.

Few clear answers have emerged, however, in large part because of the inherently speculative nature of traditional philosophical methods. This book aims to forge a bold new path forward, outlining a theory of prudence and morality that unifies a wide variety of findings in neuroscience with philosophically sophisticated normative theorizing. The author summarizes the emerging behavioral neuroscience of prudence and morality, showing how human moral and prudential cognition and motivation are known to involve over a dozen brain regions and capacities. He then outlines a detailed philosophical theory of prudence and morality based on neuroscience and lived human experience. The result demonstrates how this theory coheres with and explains the behavioral neuroscience, showing how each brain region and capacity interact to give rise to prudential and moral behavior. Book excerpt: This book discusses copyright protection of unpublished works including letters, diaries, manuscripts, photographs, memoranda, sketches, private journals, government records and drafts intended for future publication. Under contemporary British copyright law, unpublished works are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. In addition, the Berne Convention anticipates that unpublished works shall receive protection. While unpublished works are, in general, assimilated to the treatment of published ones, notable differences in the strength of protection afforded to published and unpublished works remain. It is the case that contemporary British copyright law confers stronger and longer protection on unpublished works. For instance, the unpublished status of a work assumes pivotal significance in the framework for determining: qualification for copyright protection, the extent of copyright protection, exceptions to copyright infringement and the remedies for copyright infringement. The principal aim of the book is to consider whether copyright in unpublished works is justified; a task which is prosecuted from historical, normative and legal perspectives. Although the book's primary focus is the treatment of unpublished works in Britain, it also relies extensively on materials from other Common Law jurisdictions. The book contributes to the understanding of why cumulative protection of unpublished works emerged, and how exceptions to rights in unpublished works evolved. Moreover, the analysis deployed in the book aids the task of applying the law to 'new circumstances'.
