Book excerpt: Fresh meat! From a hospital of horrors to a runaway zombie train, it's an all-new onslaught of the slavering undead in the sequel to Kirsty McKay's killer debut! Just when you think you're out...it's the morning after the night of the return of the living dead. Or something like that. After running/bus-driving/snowboarding for her life alongside rebel Smitty, geeky Pete, and popular Alice, Bobby thought she'd found the antidote to the Carrot Man Veggie Juice that had turned the rest of their classmates into zombies. When Smitty (mmm...nom, nom) got chomped, Bobby pumped a syringe full of it into him herself. But now Bobby's a prisoner in some hospital of horrors, with no clue how she got there. And Smitty is missing. What if he isn't cured after all? Bobby knows she's got to find him, even if it means facing Scotland's hungry hordes -- plus Alice's buckets of snark -- again. And this time, zombies aren't the only evil stressing her out. The brain-dead are bad enough, but how can Bobby stop the big pharma business behind the epidemic? Especially when her own mom works for the company?

G. Jung forms one of the basic texts of twentieth-century thought: at once foundational for depth psychology and pivotal for intellectual, cultural, and religious history. The writings presented here, spanning five decades, embody Jung’s attempt to establish an interdisciplinary science of analytical psychology, and apply its insights to the fields of psychiatry, criminology, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, personality psychology, anthropology, physics, biology, education, the arts and literature, the history of the mind and its symbols, comparative religion, alchemy, and contemporary culture and politics, among others: each in turn has been decisively marked by his thought. Of timely and ongoing relevance to the understanding of these fields, Jung’s writings are at the same time essential reading for any understanding of the making of the modern mind.

Book Synopsis THE COLLECTED WORKS OF C. G. JUNG: Symbols of Transformation (Volume 5) by : C.G. Jung
Download or read book THE COLLECTED WORKS OF C. G. JUNG: Symbols of Transformation (Volume 5) written by C.G. Jung and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2014-12-05 with total page 395 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1911 Jung published a book of which he says: '...it laid down a programme to be followed for the next few decades of my life.' It was vastly erudite and covered innumerable fields of study: psychiatry, psychoanalysis, ethnology and comparitive religion amongst others. In due course it became a standard work and was translated into French, Dutch and Italian as well as English, in which language it was given the well-known but somewhat misleading title of The Psychology of the Unconscious. In the Foreword to the present revised edition which first appeared in 1956, Jung says: '...it was the explosion of all those psychic contents which could find no room, no breathing space, in the constricting atmosphere of Freudian psychology... It was an attempt, only partially successful, to create a wider setting for medical psychology and to bring the whole of the psychic phenomena within its purview.' For this edition, appearing ten years after the first, bibliographical citations and entries have been revised in the light of subsequent publications in the Collected Works and in the standard edition of Freud's works, some translations have been substituted in quotations, and other essential corrections have been made, but there have been no changes of substance in the text.

Book Synopsis As I Write These Words by : Samir Georges
Download or read book As I Write These Words written by Samir Georges and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2012-04-03 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every poem in As I Write These Words seeks to take the reader on a journey with author Samir Georges. This very personal collection of poetry, begun by Samir at the age of ten and completed on his twentieth birthday, offers an invitation to travel across the tapestry of emotion and experiences he weaves. Raised in a culture that values and nurtures poetry, Samir first began writing poetry in his native language without any training. His need for expression spurred him on. From the emotion of He Whistles as He Walks, This Man to the charm of Lady, he improvises every poem, writing before he thinks; to him, emotions are felt like flint and stone in the hand, long before thought sparks from between. As I Write These Words presents an offer to dream, journey, and growan offer made with an open hand that is there for the taking. Contemplating quietly and fluently is he Not with speech but by mind and precision in every degree, Congratulate those who assimilate to those around them with decree. But he who cares not for the throng knows better than to be bound by such wrong, For judgment is to be awarded by deeds best unknown to the judge, Not as a tool to be handed down from a man to fool.
