Download or read book Untar written by Fabrizio Franzini and published by Booksprint. This book was released on 2012-05-28 with total page 505 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis The Phonetic Guide to Italian by : Matthew Lawry
Download or read book The Phonetic Guide to Italian written by Matthew Lawry and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-07-27 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about learning the phrases and sentences and getting to grips with saying the language without going into the grammar first. In that way, you can have fun learning how to say certain things and also you do not come up against stumbling blocks and frustrations. The idea behind this thinking was because when I was a child, my parents used to tell me words before they taught me how to learn the alphabet, so I thought that was a better way round: get used to the language first. I wrote this book to how I thought the student of the language could assimilate and understand it and get a basic grounding of the language. I thought to myself, what was the best thing to learn first, for instance; what the differences between masculine and feminine are; what does the accent mean, so I put this information in the chapter header pages so then I could use more space to actually learn the language. I have also put in a conceptual stage, so then you can think about the language for instance. English has quite a few routes to it, like Latin, so quite a few words are very similar, even though the accent can throw us off. It sounds like proper English for instance: disgraceful, which means scandaloso in Italian, which is nearly the same in English. I believe there is no right or wrong way to learn; it depends on what you want it for. You may want to practise it on holidays, or you may want to read the Italian newspapers, so sometimes you do not necessarily have to learn the alphabet or the grammar. I like to read newspapers on holidays and watch films in Italian; that is why I wanted to learn it. It can also be useful in attaining knowledge for quizzes. The only good criticism is a constructive one, not a destructive one. Matthew Lawry. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have in writing it.

Book Synopsis Basic Italian for English Speakers by : Karen Elizabeth Villani
Download or read book Basic Italian for English Speakers written by Karen Elizabeth Villani and published by Austin Macauley Publishers. This book was released on 2022-08-31 with total page 63 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of the book is to teach basic Italian in fifteen lessons. Readers will learn the language by building sentences and phrases as they proceed through the lessons. Italian grammar is quite complicated so grammar rules have been simplified where possible and are used in exercises, comprehension and even games so that the reader can practice immediately and in a fun way. Explanations begin in English, but as the book progresses, the English language is gradually phased out and Italian is used primarily to explain and elaborate. This is not meant to be an exhaustive Italian grammar book. Its objective is to present basic Italian in an easily understandable way for English-speaking people who may want to holiday, spend longer periods, or even decide to set up home in this truly beautiful country.

Download or read book A precipizio negli abissi written by Leonardo Gatti and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2012-02-22 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis Addressing the Letter by : Laura Anne Salsini
Download or read book Addressing the Letter written by Laura Anne Salsini and published by University of Toronto Press. This book was released on 2010-01-01 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Women writers of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Italy reinvigorated the modern epistolary novel through their re-fashioning of the genre as a tool for examining women's roles and experiences. Addressing the Letter argues that many epistolary novels purposely tie narrative structure to thematic content, creating in the process powerful texts that reflect and challenge literary and socio-cultural norms. Through the lens of the genre, Laura A. Salsini considers how the works of authors including the Marchesa Colombi, Sibilla Aleramo, Gianna Manzini, Natalia Ginzburg, and Oriana Fallaci highlight such issues as love, the loss of ideals, lack of communication and connection, and feminist ideology. She also analyses what may be the first woman-authored Italian example of epistolary fiction: Orintia Romagnuoli Sacrati's Lettere di Giulia Willet (1818). In their reworking of the epistolary narrative form, Italian women writers challenged dominant assumptions about female behaviours, roles, relationships, and sexuality in modern Italy.
Book Synopsis The Making and Unmaking of Mediterranean Landscape in Italian Literature by : Tullio Pagano
Download or read book The Making and Unmaking of Mediterranean Landscape in Italian Literature written by Tullio Pagano and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2015-04-29 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book focuses on literary representations of the northern Italian region of Liguria, whose landscape has been portrayed by internationally-known Italian poets and novelists, from Eugenio Montale to Italo Calvino. The author argues that the most perceptive authors situate themselves on a metaphorical ridge dividing the “dark side” of Mediterranean landscape, with its harsh and mountainous territory, from the sun-drenched Riviera, celebrated by the tourist industry and for the most part destroyed during the so-called economic boom. The complex and often antithetical concepts of landscape examined in the introduction inform the author’s readings of those modern and contemporary writers who have tried to make sense of the ambivalences present in Ligurian landscape, from the period of Italian Risorgimento to the present.
