Book Synopsis Plasmonic Catalysis by : Pedro H.C. Camargo
Download or read book Plasmonic Catalysis written by Pedro H.C. Camargo and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2021-06-21 with total page 354 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Explore this comprehensive discussion of the foundational and advanced topics in plasmonic catalysis from two leaders in the field Plasmonic Catalysis: From Fundamentals to Applications delivers a thorough treatment of plasmonic catalysis, from its theoretical foundations to myriad applications in industry and academia. In addition to the fundamentals, the book covers the theory, properties, synthesis, and various reaction types of plasmonic catalysis. It also covers its applications in reactions including oxidation, reduction, nitrogen fixation, CO2 reduction, and more. The book characterizes plasmonic catalytic systems and describes their properties, tackling the integration of conventional methods as well as new methods able to unravel the optical, electronic, and chemical properties of these systems. It also describes the fundamentals of controlled synthesis of metal nanoparticles relevant to plasmonic catalysis, as well as practical examples thereof. Plasmonic Catalysis covers a wide variety of other practical topics in the field, including hydrogenation reactions and the harvesting of LSPR-excited charge carriers. Readers will also benefit from the inclusion of: A thorough introduction to plasmonic catalysis, a theory of plasmons for catalysis and mechanisms, as well as optical properties of plasmonic-catalytic nanostructures An exploration of the synthesis of plasmonic nanoparticles for photo and electro catalysis, as well as plasmonic catalysis towards oxidation reactions and hydrogenation reactions Discussions of plasmonic catalysis for multi-electron processes and artificial photosynthesis and N2 fixation An examination of control over reaction selectivity in plasmonic catalysis Perfect for catalytic chemists, materials scientists, photochemists, and physical chemists, Plasmonic Catalysis: From Fundamentals to Applications will also earn a place in the libraries of physicists who seek a one-stop resource to enhance their understanding of applications in plasmonic catalysis.

Book Synopsis Atomically Precise Metal Nanoclusters by : Zhikun Wu
Download or read book Atomically Precise Metal Nanoclusters written by Zhikun Wu and published by Morgan & Claypool Publishers. This book was released on 2020-11-06 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Atomically precise metal nanocluster research has emerged as a new frontier. This book serves as an introduction to metal nanoclusters protected by ligands. The authors have summarized the synthesis principles and methods, the characterization methods and new physicochemical properties, and some potential applications. By pursuing atomic precision, such nanocluster materials provide unprecedented opportunities for establishing precise relationships between the atomic-level structures and the properties. The book should be accessible to senior undergraduate and graduate students, researchers in various fields (e.g., chemistry, physics, materials, biomedicine, and engineering), R&D scientists, and science policy makers.
Download or read book Gaṇeśapurāṇa written by Greg Bailey and published by Otto Harrassowitz Verlag. This book was released on 1995 with total page 720 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a translation of the seven thousand verses of the second book of the medieval Hindu text, the Ganesa Purana, one of two Puranas dedicated to the important elephant-headed god. In this book the reader is given many narratives about Ganesas ascent to earth in order to kill demonic figures who threaten to overthrow the correct world order. In addition, these narratives contain myths about Ganesa's birth and family as well as some extended and quite humorous myths about ideal devotees of the god.The translation is preceded by a long introduction offering a geographical and historical context for the GanesaPurana. Following the translation are very extensive notes which bring our points of philological interest, but focus mainly on the literary structure of the text and the methods used to present the many myths and narratives in a coherent and fully integrated manner.
Book Synopsis English-Pali Dictionary by : Ambalaṅgoḍa Polvattē Buddhadatta
Download or read book English-Pali Dictionary written by Ambalaṅgoḍa Polvattē Buddhadatta and published by Motilal Banarsidass Publ.. This book was released on 1989 with total page 612 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is a reprint of the English-Pali Dictionary by A.P. Buddhadatta Mahathera published long ago by the Pali Text Society in Roman script. This publication was then considered a notable event in the life of the Society for it was a great improvement on a similar earlier work by Venerable W. Piyatissa whose usefulness was reduced for the English-speaking readers by the Pali words being given in Sinhalese script. This is a consider ably enlarged form of a concise English-Pali Dictionary compiled by the present author during the second World War. The author has coined many new words and has given more than one Pali word for some English verbs which do not exist in the ancient languages like Pali. This dictionary, though not an exhaustive one, has proved much useful to the scholars of the Pali language as it presents well chosen material in a single volume of a manageable size. (by the same author) CONCISE PALI-ENGLISH DICTIONARY - This Concise Pali-English Dictionary has been prepared mainly for use by students in schools and colleges. The author is not only an eminent Elder of the Buddhist Order but one of the leading Pali scholars recognized both in the East and West as an authority on the subject. It is to be observed that the author has kept more or less to the traditional sense of words while not altogether ignoring the meanings given by western scholars in their translations and lexicons. Many errors in the latter sources have also been rectified. But the basic sense adopted is in nearly every instance the traditionally accepted meaning in accord with the commentaries and the glossaries. This perhaps is of special value to beginners as thereby they get introduced to the indigenous tradition, thus providing a useful basis on which to build up a more scientific knowledge as the study advances.
