Who can possible know his Self, while living in the mephitic atmosphere of the material world? Sinnett weaves seamlessly lucid metaphysical insights in a prosaic story of everyday life. The real and the illusive aspects of our being are always next to each other, like twin parallel lines, but they never meet unless the animal tendencies created by selfishness are conquered, and the devil of the duad annihilated. Two spirits were finally united in the limited nirvanic state of devachan, from whence no traveller returns.

But the unruly passions of the soul resist a cure, and are therefore more fatal.
Book Synopsis Plutarch on Plato’s procreation of the soul in Timaeus by : Plutarch
Download or read book Plutarch on Plato’s procreation of the soul in Timaeus written by Plutarch and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-01-03 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Plato held the eternity of matter. The material of which the world was formed was originally a shapeless mass existing from eternity. It was arranged in perfect and beautiful forms by God. Plato comments on the nature of the soul, the soul of the world, the origin of evil, and the four original elements of all created, corporeal things. But the soul is both created and uncreated. The subject is illustrated by geometry and the doctrine of ratios, and by the musical scale. The divisible and the indivisible are the Other and the Same. The opinion of those philosophers who make the soul a compound of both refuted. Two discordant principles rule the world: Fate or Necessity, and Intelligence or Wisdom. The soul is not altogether the workmanship of the Deity: Illustrations from geometry, the planetary system, and the science of music. The soul derives its beginning neither from time nor is the product of generation, but it is endowed with several faculties and virtues.

Book Synopsis Death, before whose majestic tranquillity so many shudder with fear, has no terrors by : Helena Petrovna Blavatsky
Download or read book Death, before whose majestic tranquillity so many shudder with fear, has no terrors written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2020-09-21 with total page 18 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Futurity, which has been wisely closed to every mortal eye, now opens its pages to many sons of the earth. Among the workings of the inner life within us, which we may experience but cannot explain, are there any more remarkable than those mysterious moral influences constantly exercised either for attraction or repulsion, by one human being over another? Modern astronomy profits by the works of ancient astrology, and kicks it out of sight. During the dissolution of the Etheric Double the darkness of our ignorance beginning to be dispelled, there are many things we can see. It is through the throbs of dissolution that horizons of vaster and profounder knowledge are drawn on, bursting upon our mental vision and becoming with every hour plainer to our inner eye. The nearer some people approach death, the brighter becomes their long lost memory, and the more correct the previsions because the unfoldment of inner faculties increases as life-blood becomes more stagnant. Modern science and spiritualism are two opposite poles. Life and death are as much of a mystery to the man of science, as they are to the spiritualist and the profane unbeliever. Materialistic scientists keep unweaving the rainbow. Unconscious necromancers reject every other philosophy save their own. Death, before whose majestic tranquillity so many shudder with fear, has no terrors. And yet people make too much fuss over death, and too little over the birth of every new candidate for it.

Book Synopsis Psychometry is the natural but latent faculty in us by : Helena Petrovna Blavatsky
Download or read book Psychometry is the natural but latent faculty in us written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2020-06-12 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Madame Blavatsky on the natural but latent faculty in us, by which the inner self cognizes the dynamic world of causes. Not only are the images of the past in the picture galleries of Akasha, but also the sounds of past voices, even the perfumes of archaic flowers withered ages ago, and the aromas of fruits that hung on trees when man was but a mumbling savage, and polar ice, a mile thick, covered what are now the fairest countries under the sun. Even upon the walls of our most private apartments, where we think the eye of intrusion is altogether shut out and our retirement can never be profaned, there exist the vestiges of all our acts, silhouettes of whatever we have done. Amidst a counterfeit Christianity, a stolid science and widespread pettiness, America is the kingdom of avarice and greed, coarse materialism, and hypocritical selfishness.
Book Synopsis Atman is a ray from a spark of Uncreated Ray by : Helena Petrovna Blavatsky
Download or read book Atman is a ray from a spark of Uncreated Ray written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2018-01-07 with total page 37 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 1. Atman is the Universal Self, the One Self in All, the Real Self. All else are reflections on heaving seas. 2. Atman is the soul of the spiritual man lit by its own light, the Nous Augoeides of the Neo-Platonists. 3. Woe for the living Dead, their glorious Augoeides have left them forever. 4. Atman is one with Paramatman. Buddhi, Atman’s vehicle, is part and parcel of the Dhyani-Chohanic Essence. 5. Contrary to current materialistic views, evolution proceeds along triple lines: Spiritual, Psychic, and Physical. 6. The key to the mystery of marriage is the union of Atman-Buddhi with Manas. Profane marriage is unholy and unworthy of the name. 7. Semitic Cosmogony materialises the mysteries of nature; the Aryan, spiritualizes matter while its physiology is always subservient to metaphysics. 8. No single rung of the ladder leading to Inner Wisdom can be skipped. No personality can ever reach or bring herself into communication with Atman, except through Buddhi-Manas. 9. Atman, our Lord and Protector, will show his full power only to those who can hear the “still small voice.” 10. When the bud of personality is crushed out, and the worm of sense destroyed past resurrection, the Lernaean Hydra of Separateness will vanish into thin air.
