Book Synopsis Spatiotemporal Random Fields by : George Christakos

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Spatiotemporal Random Fields: Theory and Applications, Second Edition, provides readers with a new and updated edition of the text that explores the application of spatiotemporal random field models to problems in ocean, earth, and atmospheric sciences, spatiotemporal statistics, and geostatistics, among others. The new edition features considerable detail of spatiotemporal random field theory, including ordinary and generalized models, as well as space-time homostationary, isostationary and hetrogeneous approaches. Presenting new theoretical and applied results, with particular emphasis on space-time determination and interpretation, spatiotemporal analysis and modeling, random field geometry, random functionals, probability law, and covariance construction techniques, this book highlights the key role of space-time metrics, the physical interpretation of stochastic differential equations, higher-order space-time variability functions, the validity of major theoretical assumptions in real-world practice (covariance positive-definiteness, metric-adequacy etc.), and the emergence of interdisciplinary phenomena in conditions of multi-sourced real-world uncertainty. Contains applications in the form of examples and case studies, providing readers with first-hand experiences Presents an easy to follow narrative which progresses from simple concepts to more challenging ideas Includes significant updates from the previous edition, including a focus on new theoretical and applied results

Book Synopsis The Cumulus and Meteorological Events of the Florida Peninsula During a Particular Summertime Period by : Vernon G. Plank
Download or read book The Cumulus and Meteorological Events of the Florida Peninsula During a Particular Summertime Period written by Vernon G. Plank and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The cumulus cloud events of the Florida peninsula that were observed during a 19-day period of photoreconnaissance in August and September 1957 are described and illustrated. The associated meteorological and rainfall events are also described and the intercorrelations among the various observations are pointed out. The study findings revealed that the principal factors governing the cloud and rainfall situations of the different days were (1) the low-level advection of water vapor into the peninsula from the oceanic surroundings, (2) the wind transport, into the heated peninsula from the oceans during the daytime, of pre -existing cumulus populations containing appreciable liquid water, (3) the low-level convergence, and associated updraft motion, engendered by the synoptic situation and the peninsula sea breezes, and (4) the precipitable water content of the lower Florida air mass. Book Synopsis Microclimate for Cultural Heritage by : Dario Camuffo
Download or read book Microclimate for Cultural Heritage written by Dario Camuffo and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2019-06-28 with total page 582 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Microclimate for Cultural Heritage: Measurement, Risk Assessment, Conservation, Restoration, and Maintenance of Indoor and Outdoor Monuments, Third Edition, presents the latest on microclimates, environmental issues and the conservation of cultural heritage. It is a useful treatise on microphysics, acting as a practical handbook for conservators and specialists in physics, chemistry, architecture, engineering, geology and biology who focus on environmental issues and the conservation of works of art. It fills a gap between the application of atmospheric sciences, like the thermodynamic processes of clouds and dynamics of planetary boundary layer, and their application to a monument surface or a room within a museum. Sections covers applied theory, environmental issues and conservation, practical utilization, along with suggestions, examples, common issues and errors. Incorporates research on the effects of climate change from Climate for Culture, the EU funded, five-year project focusing on climate change’s impact on cultural heritage preservation Covers green lighting technology, like LED and OLED, it’s impacts on indoor microclimates, preservation and color rendering Includes a case study on sea level issues and cultural heritage in Venice
