Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the fourth volume in the series devoted to gear engineering and computer-aided design, production, testing and education. It comprises fundamental and applied research contributions by scientists and gear experts from all the world and covers recent developments and historical achievements in various spheres of mechanical engineering related to different kinds of gears, transmissions, and drive systems. It gathers contributions describing the advanced approaches to research, design, testing and production of practically all common and new kinds of gears for a vast number of advanced applications. Special attention is paid to issues of higher education in the field of gears. The book is intended as a tribute to professor Veniamin Goldfarb (1941-2019), one of the world-known leaders in the field of gear research, education and production, who contributed much to the active international cooperation of gear experts and to promotion of MMS science. The introductory chapter of this book relates his research to major developments in the field of mechanisms and machine science and outlines important contributions that he made within the period of 1964-2019.

Book Synopsis Theory of Gearing by : Stephen P. Radzevich
Download or read book Theory of Gearing written by Stephen P. Radzevich and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-11-29 with total page 1693 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Updated throughout for the third edition, Theory of Gearing: Kinematics, Geometry, and Synthesis is an essential resource for engineers in the field of gearing. Detailing gear design, production, inspection, and application, the book covers cutting-edge gear types to enable the reader to fully keep track of modern gear developments. Demonstrating the rigorous scientific theory behind optimal gear design, manufacture, and performance, a key focus of the new edition is on aiding engineers in designing low noise transmissions in smaller sizes, improving fuel consumption and reducing emissions. Chapters included will discuss key features of Split-Power-Transmission-Systems (SPTS) with equal (almost equal) power share, and Uniform Rotary Motion. Entirely new chapters for the third edition include: Parallel-Axes involute gearing of specific design and gear, and Novikov/Conformal and High-Conformal gearing. The book will be of interest to engineers and researchers in the gearing industry. It will also have relevance to those working in tribology, metallurgy, and materials processing, alongside engineers working in precision manufacturing.

Book Synopsis Twin Tollans by : Cynthia Kristan-Graham
Download or read book Twin Tollans written by Cynthia Kristan-Graham and published by Dumbarton Oaks. This book was released on 2007 with total page 658 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume had its beginnings in the two-day colloquium, "Rethinking Chichén Itzá, Tula and Tollan," that was held at Dumbarton Oaks. The selected essays revisit long-standing questions regarding the nature of the relationship between Chichen Itza and Tula. Rather than approaching these questions through the notions of migrations and conquests, these essays place the cities in the context of the emerging social, political, and economic relationships that took shape during the transition from the Epiclassic period in Central Mexico, the Terminal Classic period in the Maya region, and the succeeding Early Postclassic period.

This book was released on 2015-01-16 with total page 947 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Archaeology of Northern Mesoamerica comprises the tenth and eleventh volumes in the Handbook of Middle American Indians, published in cooperation with the Middle American Research Institute of Tulane University under the general editorship of Robert Wauchope (1909–1979). Volume editors of Archaeology of Northern Mesoamerica are Gordon F. Ekholm and Ignacio Bernal. Gordon F. Ekholm (1909–1987) was curator of anthropology at The American Museum of Natural History, New York, and a former president of the Society for American Archaeology. Ignacio Bernal (1910–1992), former director of the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia, Mexico, was director of the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico and also a past president of the Society for American Archaeology. Volumes 10 and 11 describe the pre-Aztec and Aztec cultures of Mexico, from central Veracruz and the Gulf Coast, through the Valley of Mexico, to western Mexico and the northern frontiers of these ancient American civilizations. The thirty-two articles, lavishly illustrated and accompanied by bibliography and index, were prepared by authorities on prehistoric settlement patterns, architecture, sculpture, mural painting, ceramics and minor arts and crafts, ancient writing and calendars, social and political organization, religion, philosophy, and literature. There are also special articles on the archaeology and ethnohistory of selected regions within northern Mesoamerica. The Handbook of Middle American Indians was assembled and edited at the Middle American Research Institute of Tulane University with the assistance of grants from the National Science Foundation and under the sponsorship of the National Research Council Committee on Latin American Anthropology.
