Book Synopsis This Present Triumph by : Richard M. Cozart
Download or read book This Present Triumph written by Richard M. Cozart and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2013-09-17 with total page 341 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author of Ephesians shows an interest in the Isaianic new exodus (INE) in facilitating his focus on the present triumph of the people of God. The recipients required both insight and confidence, especially in regard to the certainty of their salvation, its mysterious nature, Jewish-Gentile relations, and their former manner of life. In the face of these challenges the author maintains that victory is secured through God's choice of them and the working of his redemptive program--which inevitably leads to triumphal blessings. As with the exodus-era Hebrews, the readers participate in paschal redemption, now embodied in Christ, along with his resurrection and ascension as the triumphant new exodus warrior over principalities and powers. In addition, and as predicted by OT writers, Gentile proselytes share the blessings of the new exodus, but now on equal footing and access as Jewish Christians--creating a new eschatological temple. Triumphant Christ distributes gifts, facilitates Spirit-endowed living, and enables Christian warfare that mirrors Yahweh and his servant. The recipients of the epistle appear to be called to view INE triumph as above, below, now and not yet, while not discarding current applications on earth.

Book Synopsis Triumph of Mercy by : Grace O Nwankpa
Download or read book Triumph of Mercy written by Grace O Nwankpa and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-08-05 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God is kind and merciful and does not want anyone to perish. He desires to relate with you and that is why He created you. To ensure that you are reconnected to Him and that you are saved He sent His son. Jesus came to justify you and make you acceptable to God. He accomplished this at His death on the cross for those who believe and accept His finished work. Those who depend on the keeping of the Old Testament law to be saved are under a curse because the scripture says that if one faults in one, one is guilty of breaking all (Jam. 2:10). It means that rarely will anyone be saved, but it is not God's wish. If that was His wish, He would not have paid such a costly prize for the world. For the above reason, God made a new law which is less burdensome and more practicable when He saw that you are not able to keep the old law as expected. Jesus who encouraged you to forgive unconditionally and who gave His life to wash away your sins and who is presently interceding for you will not judge and condemn you if you accept Him and His offer of grace. This book emphasizes that (1) Jesus will never reject those who accept His finished work on the cross and states that having accepted Jesus as their personal lord and savior, they will no longer be condemned. Jesus did not reject any of His disciples their weaknesses notwithstanding. He rather declared them holy (Jn. 13:1aEUR"13). By so doing, He showed us that those who accept Him will not be rejected by His father whose desire it is that all be saved. God will not reject you. You are the only one who can deny yourself entrance. In John 6:37aEUR"40, Jesus said that all that His father gave Him will come to Him and all that come to Him, He will not cast away. (2) It shows the mercy of God to humanity and sets to guide man to accept His grace. (3) It illustrates how the mercy of God through Christ triumphed over the judgement of the Old Testament through Moses. (4) It will help you understand the consequences of sin on Christians and non-Christians and states that without Jesus you cannot withstand the fiery darts of the enemy. (5) It points out the functions of the Old Testament and the New Testament laws. (6) It highlights ways of worshiping God, why some prayers are not answered and the prerequisite for getting prayers answered. (7) Stresses the importance of the study and obedience to the word of God. This book will guide you to live a holy and peaceful life, free from the burden of sin and sin consciousness as it points out the negative effects of sin consciousness; anxiety, worry, fear, uncontrolled talking, lack of contentment and a new form of idol worship. It integrated the views of some renowned men of God and authors and quoted the bible extensively. It challenges the idea that Christians would be judged and consequently questions the good in the good news of the birth and death of Jesus if after accepting Jesus as your personal lord and savior Christians would be judged and condemned if they slip in error. In addition to that, the scriptures did not say that Christians would be judged but the world.

Book Synopsis Grace Triumphs over Law by : JT Johnston
Download or read book Grace Triumphs over Law written by JT Johnston and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-11-11 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Grace Triumphs over Law - The Scripture that Changed My Life is the story of one man's journey from living under the law to living under grace, from condemnation to salvation, and from darkness to light. While studying the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit brought clear understanding of the falsehood of his religion and the real truths found in God's Holy Word. We will examine hundreds of scriptural references and quotations to uncover the distinction between the old and new covenants (law and grace), demonstrating the promises and righteousness now available to all Christians through Jesus Christ our Lord. Examples from the law and its rituals are examined, explained, and shown to be predecessors to the new covenant of love, grace, and mercy. You will be carried along this journey with him as we explore how good and gracious our God truly is, as demonstrated by the life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and teachings of God the Son. God's free gift of Christ's completed work has opened to us a better covenant with better promises, and the gift of the Holy Spirit to all who believe. This is a handbook and study guide, for old and new Christians alike, concentrating on the new life found in Jesus, through His eternal sacrifice, which brought about the wonders of the new covenant between God and His saints.
