Book excerpt: This book offers a critique of common spiritual warfare practices including binding Satan, renouncing curses, spiritual mapping and exorcisms. Using Scripture, and Scripture alone, Pastor Jim Osman shows that true spiritual warfare is not a battle over territory, but a battle for the truth. The book is divided into four sections: Establishing Biblical Principles, Exposing Unbiblical Practices, Explaining Biblical Perspectives and Examining a Biblical Passage. A biblical approach to spiritual warfare recognizes the Bible as the sole authority, rejects unbiblical and man-made methods, and rests in Christ and His finished work for victory. Many in the modern spiritual warfare movement teach a methodology of spiritual warfare that is more akin to something you would find in a Harry Potter novel (renouncing curses and using prayer mantras to seize territory) than anything described in Scripture. Many of these practices reflect a theology built on anecdotes, experience, and interviews with demons rather than a sound exegesis of Scripture. Footnoted quotations of authors like Mark Bubeck, Neil T. Anderson, and others are compared against Scripture to show that modern spiritual warfare "experts" have abandoned the authority of Scripture and opted for man-made methods to wage spiritual battle. The chapters include a study of the three enemies that every Christian faces: the world, the flesh, and the devil. Pastor Osman answers from Scripture the questions: Can a Christian be demon-possessed? Is Christ's authority ours? and, What about exorcisms? One chapter includes a helpful discussion of the link between spiritual warfare and a believer's sanctification. The foreword is written by international conference speaker Justin Peters (justinpeters.org). This book is being published as an e-book as a fundraiser to finish the new church building of Kootenai Community Church (www.kootenaichurch.org) of which Jim is one of the pastors. All the proceeds go the building fund for the completion of that project. You can see regular updates at http: //www.truthorterritory.com .

What is righteousness?" and have not found the answer through traditional activities like going to church, this Bible study guide is for you. Without a proper understanding of His teachings, you are unable to live the righteous life God planned for you — making it much easier to succumb to a life of sin. Sometimes, it takes times of great adversity for a person to be stripped of these illusions of God that traditional spiritual practices create. Denise Snow, author of "Seeking Truth," has gone through tremendous challenges and her eyes have been opened to things of God. She has heard the voice of God and is now sharing how you can open yourself to God's will to live a life of happiness and success. Too many people fall for the false image of God which prevents them from seeing who He truly is and hearing His voice in their lives. Seek and You Shall Find This guide is meant to be your companion in discovering the Bible so that you may live your life in accordance with God's word and teachings. Appropriately entitled "Seeking Truth," this book is for the seeker in all of us. Man is too imperfect for us to rely on other people's interpretation of the bible as truth. Let this book inspire you to open your eyes to the message of God's love in the scripture. Through this book, anyone can learn how to make sense of scripture. It offers: A question-and-answer Bible study frameworkA user-friendly guide that tackles the Bible verse by verseA specific focus on the Old Testament for a more in-depth understanding Returning to Genesis The book of Genesis is much richer than you might think. Genesis is remembered by children for its wondrous stories of creation, God's power, and man's original sin. However, this understanding of the first book of the Bible may be riddled with false interpretations influenced by traditional institutions. This guide starts by returning to Genesis to take you on a journey of truth and discovery, free of the false notions.

Book excerpt: Not What You Think blows the dust off dated misperceptions of the Bible and engages the problems of this book head-on--the parts that make modern readers squeamish, skeptical, and uncertain. If you're skeptical about the Bible, you're not alone. The Bible is seen by many contemporary readers as intolerant, outdated, out of step with societal norms at best, and a tool of oppression at worst. In this earnest and illuminating read, millennial thought leaders and aspiring theologians Michael and Lauren McAfee are here to say: fair enough. But they're also here to raise a few questions of their own: What if we cleared the deck on our preconceptions of the Bible and encountered it anew? What if we came with the understanding that our questions are welcome? And what if the Bible presents less of a system to figure out, and more of a story to step into--a story with more surprising plot twists than we might think? Michael and Lauren spent their childhoods in church and Sunday school, they spent part of their twenties finding their way in the world in New York City, and today they're shaping their careers while pursuing doctoral studies in theology and ethics. Along the way, they've had to wrangle very real questions--both their own, and of their friends--about why, where, and how the most controversial book in history fits in our world today. Join Michael and Lauren as they explore the nature of the Bible--an ancient mosaic of story, literature, history, and poetry--and what it means for this generation and its relationship with God. Ultimately, Not What You Think is an invitation to come and see, and be surprised.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Subversive Spirituality Peterson has gathered together a host of writings penned over the past twenty-five years that reflect on the overlooked facets of the spiritual life. Comprising occasional pieces, short biblical studies, poetry, pastoral readings, and interviews, this work captures the epiphanies of life with the pleasing pastoral style and inspiring depth of insight for which Peterson is well known. Peterson describes his book this way: "This gathering of articles and essays, poems and conversations, is a kind of kitchen midden of my noticings of the obvious in the course of living out the Christian life in the vocational context of pastor, writer, and professor. The randomness and repetitions and false starts are rough edges that I am leaving as is in the interests of honesty. Spirituality is not, by and large, smooth. I do hope, however, that these pieces will be found to be freshly phrased".

Book excerpt: "Contemporary preaching suffers from a loss of confidence in the power of the Word, from an infatuation with technology, from an embarrassment before the biblical text, from an evacuation of biblical content, from a focus on felt needs, from an absence of gospel." Preaching, the practice of publicly expositing the Bible, has fallen on hard times. How did this happen? After all, as John A. Broadus famously remarked, “Preaching is characteristic of Christianity." In this powerful book, He Is Not Silent: Preaching in a Postmodern World, R. Albert Mohler Jr. shows us how. In a style both commanding and encouraging, Mohler lays the groundwork for preaching, fans the flame on the glory of preaching, and calls out with an urgent need for preaching. This message is desperately needed yet not often heard. Whether you're concerned or enthused by the state of the church today, join Mohler as he examines preaching and why the church can't survive without it.

The correct answer to that question is foundational for receiving from God. I don't deserve it, I'm not good enough!" Spirit, Soul, and Body will help you eliminate those and other doubt-filled questions that destroy your faith. If you have trouble receiving from God, this is a must-read!

Book excerpt: For over 18 years now I have been visited by Spiritual Beings from above who have channelled through those close and not so close to me and through visions and dreams, teaching me long-forgotten Truths, which you Preachers and Teachers no longer preach or teach, but are true and exist regardless of your Preachers and Teachers no longer preaching and teaching what you are about to read in my first of seven Guide Books into all Truth. Within this first Guide Book, you will find "The True Way," the way of the Children of Wisdom whose teachings come from their Heavenly Mother, Wisdom Sophia, the Ruach Ha-Kodesh/Holy Spirit/Ruh al-Qudus. You will learn from whence your Souls come before they incarnate and where they return to when they leave this earth, which is where all who passed before you, your loved ones, friends and strangers are today in this year of our Lord and His Lady, 2018. A Child of Wisdom, Tyler Henry, known as the Hollywood Medium is an amazing 20-year-old man who reveals in great detail those who have passed on from this earth and is a must to see if you are looking for many signs and wonders about your loved ones, friends and strangers. Check him out on truTV or YouTube, or simply just Google his name and read all about him, for this child is sent by our Heavenly Father and Mother to teach and comfort those who have lost loved ones, friends and strangers. Remember this folks, it is written, says "The Lord God Most High," I will pour out my Spirit (Heavenly Mother) upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. Tyler Henry, as with me and many others are doing as predicted many moons ago and bringing forth the Truth of prophecy, visitations, dreams and visions, and sharing them with their fellow human beings in these latter days, which we now live in. I will take the reader through my earth bloodline of Stewart/Stuart, who were Tribal Leaders, and Stewards in many Royal Houses throughout the earth, eventually becoming Kings and Queens in their own right in many parts of the earth, and especially in Scotland, Ireland, England and many other Royal Houses throughout the four corners of the earth. You will learn that Joshua/Jesus/Isa was married to Mary Magdalene and that they had three children, who I will name within this first Guide Book into all Truth, even showing the reader where they can find their eldest son, Jesus Jnr within their Christian scriptures. You will learn about the "True Holy Grail" which is not a cup, drinking vessel or chalice as millions believe it is but is a living person, which 7.5bn earthly human beings know nothing about, until now in 2018 and this first Guide Book into all Truth. I will teach the reader as I have been taught and reveal the Secrets within many scriptures, from all the earthly Holy books. You will learn the Secrets within Proverbs 8 22:36 and who the "Wonder Woman" in Revelation 12 is. I will teach you of your Souls and their reason, without whom, your flesh would not be able to function. So join this Child of Wisdom on a Magical journey of Discovery and Self-Discovery and open your Minds and awaken your Souls to Truths long-forgotten by humankind, for the hour is late and the beginning is near.
