Book excerpt: TWO STORIES IN ONE: AN ALL-NEW SARA RICHARDSON NOVEL PLUS SAVED BY THE COWBOY BY A.J. PINE "Filled with humor, heart, and love, this page-turner is one wild ride." -- Jennifer Ryan, New York Times bestselling author on Hometown Cowboy Can this cowboy be tamed? Everly Brooks is finally living her dream. Renting a farm in Topaz Falls, Colorado, is the perfect antidote to her high-stress life back in San Francisco. It's the ideal place to raise chickens, grow veggies, and run her farm-to-table restaurant. There's just one problem: her new landlord. Mateo Torres is a handsome-as-hell bronc rider who oozes charm, melts hearts-and plans to kick Everly off the farm . . . Mateo has dreams, too. He'd bought that land as an investment, so he could take care of his mom and sisters, which means Everly has to go. Unfortunately for him, this former big-city girl is just as stubborn as the broncs he rides. When his trailer floods and forces him to move into Everly's farmhouse, things between them really start to heat up. Sure, living under the same roof might not be the best way to settle their dispute over the land. But when two rivals share everything-from heated words to scorching kisses-it's definitely the hottest.

Book excerpt: “True Blue” tells the story of how two people, a man and a woman, in spite of their different origins and persuasions, find themselves in an unfamiliar situation in Germany at the height of the Cold War in 1959 during the operation of the Berlin air-lift. And how, by the honest examination of those differences, finally result in love. Both are members of Britain’s Royal Air Force: He an upper=class much decorated Anglican ex Battle of Britain fighter pilot and she. a lowly conscript of the Woman’s Royal Air Force (WAAF), daughter of a Jewish working-class London family whose main function on meeting is to serve refreshments in the officer’s mess and whose paths would not normally not cross. Unwittingly, for reasons unknown to them both, they develop a magnetic and romantic attraction. The book also describes the environment of their romance as they saw it in immediate post-war devastated Berlin. After returning to England, they marry. One of the invited guests who was a volunteer Jamaican navigator who served during the Berlin air-lift. He, the scion of a wealthy influential Jamaican family, offered the couple the use of their beach cottage in Jamaica for their honeymoon. They accept and the book then describes Jamaica as it was in pre-independence days and the couples enjoyment of the gift. Ulterior motives then emerge for the reason of this generosity; the need, after independence of Jamaica for the need of a replacement BOAC resident airline manager. The post is offered and after debate, accepted by the couple. Arrangements made, they then migrate to Kingston where the book ends with descriptions of colonial Jamaica as it was then and the happy outcome of the unlikely officer’s canteen romance.

Book excerpt: Will his proposal eventually win her heart? For rancher Chance Braxton, Josie Monroe was the classic girl next door. He’d fallen early and hard, but because her heart had belonged to his careless and indifferent brother, Chance had been permanently friend-zoned since Josie was a teen. Now Josie’s running her failing ranch all alone, and it’s time for Chance to step up and keep a promise he made to her dying mother – marry Josie and combine their ranches. Josie Monroe doesn’t want help or need to be saved by anyone – especially her wealthy ranching neighbor and forever thorn in her paw, Chance Braxton. The serious, way-too-handsome cowboy has starred in too many of her fantasies, but he still sees her as a heart-broken girl. She’s a woman now, and she’s determined to prove everyone wrong: She can save her ranch and rebuild her father’s legacy…alone. When Chance proposes, Josie’s problems are just beginning. So why does her pulse kick up every time he rides by and tips his Stetson?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1954, in West Shawmut, Alabama, it was a kinder, gentler, and more peaceful time in life and society. Gas was twenty-two cents a gallon. This is a community memoir chronicling, detailing, and reflecting upon some of those memorable events, experiences, and adventures of youthful yesterdays. West Shawmut, Alabama is a nondescript small town and quaint, folksy community nestled in southeastern sweet home Alabama, not even a dot on the Alabama map. But it is a village haven of genuine love, hope, dreams, and aspirations for its perhaps one thousand inhabitants. Its not too far from the West Point, Georgia, Kia Automotive Plant, a hoot, holler, and a skip from Valley, Alabama. Submerged in the heart of the backwoods of Chambers County right across the Georgia/Alabama boundary line and the Chattahoochee River resides the West Shawmut community. In Spite of! is a time-captured portrait of humble beginnings transformed to hardworking determination, overcoming impoverished circumstances with academic achievement, and overturning obstacles by divine intervention and fate. Kerry The Hawk Meadows transports the reader to a kinder, gentler, and more peaceful time in life to a quiet, leave-your-door-open community of neighborly down-home, homegrown, genuine, sit-on-the-front-porch, yall-sit-a-spell, real folks. The detailed imagery is steeped in thoughtful homespun language and old-school relics as old as rabbit-ear antennae wrapped in aluminum foil, outhouses, and eight-track cassette tapes.

He became an instant favourite with the Ibrox faithful in the summer of 2004 when he famously rejected overtures from arch-rivals Celtic and signed for Rangers. Now, as he closes in on six years at Rangers, "I Said No Thanks" tells Nacho Novo's story in an explosive and controversial book that pulls no punches. Novo charts his journey from his upbringing in Spain to the streets of Kirkcaldy and Dundee as he made his name in Scottish football. There's the family tragedy that changed his life. He reveals the real reasons he said 'No Thanks' to Celtic - a decision that defined his life. And he tells the full inside story of the managers he has worked with, the glory goals that have clinched SPL titles and UEFA Cup glory, the fall-outs and the controversy as well as revealing for the first time the shocking stories behind life in Glasgow as one of the few players to have split the football-mad city in two. "I Said No Thanks" is a no-holds-barred insight into life as an Old Firm star.
