Book Synopsis When the Dogs Bark "Treed" by : Elliott S. Barker
Download or read book When the Dogs Bark "Treed" written by Elliott S. Barker and published by Old West Books. This book was released on with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The culmination of a lifetime of hound-dogging and hunting of the big cats in an action packed year of adventure on the famous Vermejo Park Ranch in northern New Mexico. The pages of When the Dogs Bark "Treed" vividly reflect the author’s love for wildlife and for wild places. It is a portrayal of a conservationist and administrator of wildlife resources who came up the hard way. It, incidentally, presents a vast store of information about game and predators and their environment which the author has gleaned from long years of firsthand contacts. Only the pioneer who helped blaze the dangerous, difficult trails of exploration and conquest could fully appreciate the part played by horses and dogs in his adventures. Elliott Barker, appreciated his dogs and horses and gives them a full share of credit for his success in following and destroying the larger predaceous animals. One has only to follow the story as it swiftly unfolds to appreciate the fact that the author is a product of the saddle and of the mountains and forests of his beloved Sunshine State. No other was better qualified to pen the pages of this book, rich in romance and factual material, than Elliott Barker, the first State Game Warden of New Mexico, and no stage more fitting for the enactment of the drama than the Vermejo Park property, a part of the famous old Maxwell Land Grant, still in almost primitive state, in northern New Mexico.

Book Synopsis Non-Noetherian Commutative Ring Theory by : S.T. Chapman
Download or read book Non-Noetherian Commutative Ring Theory written by S.T. Chapman and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 477 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Commutative Ring Theory emerged as a distinct field of research in math ematics only at the beginning of the twentieth century. It is rooted in nine teenth century major works in Number Theory and Algebraic Geometry for which it provided a useful tool for proving results. From this humble origin, it flourished into a field of study in its own right of an astonishing richness and interest. Nowadays, one has to specialize in an area of this vast field in order to be able to master its wealth of results and come up with worthwhile contributions. One of the major areas of the field of Commutative Ring Theory is the study of non-Noetherian rings. The last ten years have seen a lively flurry of activity in this area, including: a large number of conferences and special sections at national and international meetings dedicated to presenting its results, an abundance of articles in scientific journals, and a substantial number of books capturing some of its topics. This rapid growth, and the occasion of the new Millennium, prompted us to embark on a project aimed at presenting an overview of the recent research in the area. With this in mind, we invited many of the most prominent researchers in Non-Noetherian Commutative Ring Theory to write expository articles representing the most recent topics of research in this area.
Book Synopsis Greenhouse Gas Emissions - Fluxes and Processes by : A. Tremblay
Download or read book Greenhouse Gas Emissions - Fluxes and Processes written by A. Tremblay and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-04-30 with total page 743 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a time when an unquestionable link between anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases and climatic changes has finally been acknowledged and * widely documented through IPCC reports, the need for precise estimates of greenhouse gas (GHG) production rates and emissions from natural as well as managed ecosystems has risen to a critical level. Future agreements between nations concerning the reduction of their GHG emissions will - pend upon precise estimates of the present level of these emissions in both natural and managed terrestrial and aquatic environments. From this viewpoint, the present volume should prove to a benchmark contribution because it provides very carefully assessed values for GHG emissions or exchanges between critical climatic zones in aquatic en- ronments and the atmosphere. It also provides unique information on the biases of different measurement methods that may account for some of the contradictory results that have been published recently in the literature on this subject. Not only has a large array of current measurement methods been tested concurrently here, but a few new approaches have also been developed, notably laser measurements of atmospheric CO concentration 2 gradients. Another highly useful feature of this book is the addition of - nitoring and process studies as well as modeling.
