Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors demonstrate that much of Jesus' teaching has been lost -- either removed from the Gospels, suppressed, kept secret for those being initiated into the deeper mysteries, or never written down at all. Then, in modern vernacular, they present a bold reconstruction of the essence of Jesus' message -- the lost teachings Jesus gave his disciples 2000 years ago on karma, reincarnation, good and evil, and how to reunite with the Higher Self. Includes 32 Roerich art reproductions and illustrations of the chakras in the body of man.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The World as Will and Idea" is the central work of the German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer. Taking the transcendental idealism of Immanuel Kant as his starting point, Schopenhauer argues that the world we experience around us – the world of objects in space and time and related in causal ways – exists solely as "representation" dependent on a cognizing subject, not as a world that can be considered to exist in itself. Our knowledge of objects is thus knowledge of mere phenomena rather than things-in-themselves. Schopenhauer identifies the thing-in-itself – the inner essence of everything – as will: a blind, unconscious, aimless striving devoid of knowledge, outside of space and time, and free of all multiplicity. The world as representation is, therefore, the "objectification" of the will. "The World as Will and Idea" marked the pinnacle of Schopenhauer's philosophical thought; he spent the rest of his life refining, clarifying, and deepening the ideas presented in this work without any fundamental changes. This carefully crafted DigiCat ebook is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Transmigration is the passing of lower entities, through the agency of life-atoms (skandas), to the crucible of evolution, either by “recycling” life-atoms after death, or by throwing away life-atoms during intense feeling. Metempsychosis is the progress of an animal soul to a higher stage of existence. Metangismos was the technical term for metempsychosis among the Pythagoreans. Reincarnation is the rebirth of the same Ego in successive human bodies. Metempsychosis, Setting A. A virtuous, but not entirely pure, soul withdraws to high realms of subjectivity for a period of rest before submitting to a further period of imprisonment in the flesh. Metempsychosis, Setting B. A virtuous soul, purified by “self-induced and self-devised efforts,” realises its essential unity with the Self of All, and annihilates its self-conscious materiality in favour of the true peace and justice that dwells in Unconscious Immateriality. Metempsychosis, Setting C. An irredeemably vicious soul that has been cut off from its Spiritual Master and Saviour, is downgraded to infernal worlds for punishment and terminal demise. Human souls do not enter animal bodies, for Nature will not reverse the order of her kingdoms. Only the life-atoms of a dissolved physical body do so. Reincarnation means re-infleshment. Palingenesis means re-generation. Metensomatosis means re-embodiment. The difference between reincarnation, palingenesis, and metensomatosis explained. Gilgulim, permutation, and revolution, differ from transmigration and metempsychosis. Gilgulim is the cyclic or revolving process of births, deaths, and rebirths. But Palestine is neither land nor locus, it is the Nirvana of the Buddhists.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A great student of the Science of Mind, Richard Ingalese frequently lectured on New Thought and topics of mental therapeutics. The History and Power of Mind is a collection of many of his lectures and articles, first published in 1902, with Ingalese's own annotations and expansions. Difficult subjects to wrangle, from self-control to hypnotism to self-healing, were not a problem for the articulate and charismatic Ingalese, who brings insight and intelligence to esoteric ideas and puts them in a practical and applicable context that demystifies mental and psychic phenomena for the intellectual reader curious about the mind, how it works, and what it can do. American lawyer RICHARD INGALESE (b. 1854) was a self-taught alchemist and proponent of New Thought. He claimed to have confected the true Philosopher's Stone, which confers immortality and turns common metals into gold, and disappeared, along with his wife, a psychic and healer, sometime in the early 20th century. Before their disappearance, Ingalese authored several articles and books, including Fragments of Truth (1921), Astrology and Health (1927), and Cosmogony and Evolution (1907).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After a nearly two-thousand-year interlude, and just as Christian Europe was in the throes of the great Witch Hunt and what historians have referred to as "The Age of the Demoniac," accounts of spirit possession began to proliferate in the Jewish world. Concentrated at first in the Near East but spreading rapidly westward, spirit possession, both benevolent and malevolent, emerged as perhaps the most characteristic form of religiosity in early modern Jewish society. Adopting a comparative historical approach, J. H. Chajes uncovers this strain of Jewish belief to which scant attention has been paid. Informed by recent research in historical anthropology, Between Worlds provides fascinating descriptions of the cases of possession as well as analysis of the magical techniques deployed by rabbinic exorcists to expel the ghostly intruders. Seeking to understand the phenomenon of spirit possession in its full complexity, Chajes delves into its ideational framework—chiefly the doctrine of reincarnation—while exploring its relation to contemporary Christian and Islamic analogues. Regarding spirit possession as a form of religious expression open to—and even dominated by—women, Chajes initiates a major reassessment of women in the history of Jewish mysticism. In a concluding section he examines the reception history of the great Hebrew accounts of spirit possession, focusing on the deployment of these "ghost stories" in the battle against incipient skepticism in the turbulent Jewish community of seventeenth-century Amsterdam. Exploring a phenomenon that bridged learned and ignorant, rich and poor, men and women, Jews and Gentiles, Between Worlds maps for the first time a prominent feature of the early modern Jewish religious landscape, as quotidian as it was portentous: the nexus of the living and the dead.

This book was released on 2015-08-14 with total page 3335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 6th edition of Jubb, Kennedy, and Palmer’s Pathology of Domestic Animals continues the long tradition of this classic set of volumes as the most comprehensive reference book published on the topic of pathology of the common domestic mammals, with emphasis on disease conditions of cattle and small ruminants, swine, horses, dogs and cats. Using a body systems approach, recognized authorities in their fields provide overviews of general characteristics of the system, reactions to insult, and disease conditions broken down by type of infectious or toxic insult affecting the anatomical subdivisions of each body system. Since the publication of the 4th edition in 1993, much has changed. Disease agents, such as Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) type 2, Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), Porcine circovirus 2, Hendra virus, and Leptospira spp., have emerged or further evolved. Molecular-based testing, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and in-situ hybridization, have allowed further understanding of pathogenesis of disease, and have greatly furthered our diagnostic capabilities. Updated content includes new and evolving pathogens and diagnostic techniques. Updated bibliographies give readers new entry points into the rapidly expanding literature on each subject. NEW! High-resolution color images clearly depict the diagnostic features of hundreds of conditions. NEW! Introduction to the Diagnostic Process chapter illustrates the whole animal perspective and details the approaches to systemic, multi-system, and polymicrobial disease. NEW! Coverage of camelids is now included in the reference’s widened scope of species. NEW! Team of 30+ expert contributors offers the latest perspective on the continuum of issues in veterinary pathology. NEW! Expanded resources on the companion website include a variety of helpful tools such as full reference lists with entries linked to abstracts in Pub Med and bonus web-only figures. NEW! Full-color design improves the accessibility of the text.
